Hiya, thanks for your reply....must admit I can't remember dose of cyclogest....it was to help severe PMS symptoms, but it didn't!
I'm only 5 days into the oestrogel, and so I know it's VERY early days, but at the moment my flushes and sweats seem to be much worse.
I'm going to try the utrogestan cyclically first I think (will I get a bleed? That will be novel, as none for 2/3 years!). I think I'm going to try it orally first, see how I go. I'm more nervous starting the progesterone, but not for over a wk yet....oh, if I have it cyclically, will it have to be 200mg, not 100mg?
Thanks 🙂
Ladybt - I answered Jmargaret's query on another thread where she mentioned the same thing so hopefully she has seen it! Here:

Hi all, so I've started oestrogel/dose, I'm not good with 'drugs' as a rule, so I've taken 4 days to get up to full dose (will be having 2 pumps this evening!).
I'm 52, last period over 2 years ago...the Dr has also prescribed utrogestan....she's prescribed it for every day....I'm worried I'll be intolerant, from memories of cyclogest yrs ago.....would it be better starting on it for 14 days a month first?
Also, as a rule, how long till oestrogel kicks in?.....I would like to see if it's helping for a couple of weeks, before starting the utrogestan, so if I have any effects, especially bad, I know which it's more likely to be.....hope that all makes sense 🤯
Thanks 🙂
Hi winnie
I agree with Lilyloos suggestion - and also agreeing with your first thoughts - to try it cyclically at first and then you will get an idea of how well you feel on the oestrogen only before introducing progesterone. Even better the prescribed dose is actually only 12 days per month ( x 200 mg). I noticed an improvement with patches within days and hopefully you will feel the same with gel - ie flushes and sweats start to become less frequent and then disappear completely - hopefully the same for you - fingers crossed .
Are you going to be taking it orally or vaginally? The dose is probably lower than you took of Cyclogest - depending on the reason you took the latter of course....
