Premature Menopause

The diagnosis of premature menopause can be absolutely devastating, especially in a woman who has not yet started or completed her family.

Women are often shocked and unbelieving of the diagnosis and may not be given adequate support or advice to cope with either the physical or psychological effects. The diagnosis may be delayed and women have often been told “It can’t be the menopause, you are too young!”

Work is being carried out to increase awareness of this important condition and meanwhile, the information on this website should help, along with support on our Forum, and support groups specifically for women with a premature menopause.
