Hi
I have mild, constant itching and I am postmenopause with dry skin.
I am wondering if you stopped the supplements and found relief from the estrogen patches alone?
Thanks!

Did your itching ever go away? I am itching and I don't know if it is due to being post menopausal.

Hi
Just wondering if you had any resolution on the itching? I am being tested to rule out bad things because I itch all the time, but mildly mostly. I am hoping it is due to menopause or maybe because I have peripheral neuropathy. |

I think the written word can be read / interpreted in many different ways, and you can't always ask for clarification, however there were a few things Garnet had written in the original post that raised alarm bells for many of us, and she did state that she has been googling divorce, which makes me think that she knows things need to change.
Some of the responses may appear to be harsh, and may be influenced by personal experiences or just different communication styles, but I think the over-riding factor is that everyone is concerned for this lady and is trying to be helpful / supportive. None of us want her to be suffering and in pain. Whatever happens I just hope that she is OK. |

It can take up to four months for the pessary to work, I would not use the replens internally and let the vagifem do its work. Use the replens on the outside only with perhaps a little on the inside. Its all trial and error at first and I can only assume its using too much replens that is causing the kind of discharge you describe, but only guessing that's the cause.
Make good use of the search box here on Vaginal Atrophy and GSM, tons of info available and very informative. Also if you are posting again, post on the 'all things menopause' page of the forum, you will get more of a response there. |

Hiya, so I had a coil put in for the first time on Wednesday. Before starting, the consultant asked permission for an opportunistic biopsy which I was a bit surprised about but gave consent. No hysteroscopy.
So I had both done and once I was adequately anaesthtised with gel and injection, my cervix was dilated and the procedures were quite comfortable. I felt a little bruised but thought I'd got away lightly. Had some bleeding Weds and Thursday then nothing Friday until I started with some fresh blood tinged mucous that looked like pus before bed. I also had some left sided pain which felt like my ovulation pain used to. Today (Saturday) I've had pain all day, mostly left sided. It reminds me of the pain I had in the days leading up to having my appendix out. Not agony at all but can feel it all the time and I want to hold my abdomen when I walk. I've had a heat pack on it all day as well as pain relief. The ?pus/yellow discharge has slowed down but still present. I've had some pelvic floor cramps along with the pain and increased pain when my bladder empties. No burning but vagina does feel a bit sore (but I do have dryness so that's likely from the instruments etc). There is no odour to the discharge, which I'm presuming means it's not an infection? All my Internet searches seem to mention foul odour for post coil/biopsy infection. Does this sound like usual recovery from biopsy and coil? The pain is on the biopsy side. Thanks for reading! |

It was the bit in this poor lady’s post about her husband planning to “ do her” in each country they visited. I’m visualising her trapped abroad with an angry sex pest.
I too hope she is okay. |

I’ve been battling to get diagnosed with vaginal dryness. I’m early 40s and kept being told I was too young. Nurse tested and treated me for thrush (which I knew it wasn’t). Then gave me replens but said she couldn’t prescribe vaginal oestrogen. I was sure after 2 months of scratchy, itchy discomfort inside and out plus feeling like I’d ridden a bike and struggling to sit comfortably most days, that the issue was a perimenopause vaginal dryness scenario. I’ve been using replens every other day for 6 weeks and I get wet tissue clumpy discharge. This can be very uncomfortable when it comes out and takes days to come out and makes me feel like something is stuck at the entrance to my vagina. I got a practitioner nurse to finally take me seriously and got vaginal oestrogen perscribed 2 days ago. I’m hoping it works fast so I can stop the replens. Has anyone else had this clumpy tissue discharge with replens?

I wasn't suggesting she go to the police. I was making sure people know that his behaviour is more that unacceptable, it is criminal. Some people seem to think it is a misunderstanding or miscommunication. No one should feel obliged to suffer an unhealthy relationship . I am shocked anyone would be enabling such toxic behaviour. I don't think anybody does think it's acceptable, some of us are concerned about the impact of some of the replies on the lady in question. It can be a shock. I hope she's ok. |
