DH and I have deep, itchy ears. Yesterday we visited a chemist and browsed the shelfs for drops to ease it. The "Cl-ear" ear relief drops - reduces painful inflammation and itching. When we got the product home in smaller letters: 'do not sue if the ear drum has been damaged [no] or perforated [no], there is an infection [no] or any problems with ears (eczema, itching sensation, dermatitis or any other skin problems)
![]() Angry beyond words we don't believe that any product will do any particular harm so will continue with it. Can't waste £8!Any1 remember when olive oil was in the medicine cabinet and not the kitchen? |

I do feel for me progesterone and progestins do make my vagina worse, but I also think that is pretty rare for people to experience that effect to a big extend.
For me though, systemic estrogen doesn’t do the job at all for my vaginal atrophy, so I think starting back up with the vaginal estrogen could definitely help. For me, I have an appointment in 9 days to get things checked out, I’m not sure what I’m feeling, there seems no room in my vagina and I feel like I might have a prolapse or it might be atrophy. For the last few weeks, I have been alternating using an estriol suppository and cream on the outside and using a moisturizing suppository (with hyaloronic acid) and a similar gel on the outside and that seems to helping a bit with the full feeling, so at least part of my issues is VA. It has become much easier to insert the suppositories now, before I could sometimes hardly fit my finger. (I’m 50 and still in peri, this last year, my vaginal issues (and menopausal symptoms) just got so much worse, so I’m hoping that means late peri). |

I would continue with the Diazepam . Who is over seeing your medication? This is usually given to ease anxiety and served me well in the 1990s. 2.5mg is low so don't worry about becoming addicted!
When do U take it? My worst time is early morning. How does the depression affect you? Insomnia can be self fulfilling in that we worry more and more about not sleeping. Oestrogen is our natural hormone, how were U during your menstruating years? What R your periods up to now? How old are you and what is PoTs please? |

First post: need urgent advice please:
I’m on diazepam 2.5mg per day, been taking 5 weeks, want to try utrogestan 100 orally. Have heard horror stories about cross tolerance of benzodiazepines and progesterone. Am I safe to start utrogestan or should I taper off the diazepam first and wait a bit before starting utrogestan (if so how long?). Am super sensitive to oestrogen (makes me wired and triggers insomnia), v low dose 1/8th pessary vaginal cyclogest seemed to make me depressed and couldn’t sleep, so unsure if 100 oral utrogestan would be better but I’ve got to try something as terrible insomnia and depression and been off sick from work 6 months. Only alternative offered is low dose seroquel as SSRIS interfere with my PoTs, Hope you can help. |

Speaking of neck, I’m getting a MRI of my neck to make sure nothing is going on there contributing to my dizziness/ vertigo. Have you had your neck fully looked at?
My periods are greatly slowing down, they’re irregular , last only 2 days, come at different times, and I’ve skipped a few but not consecutively. I’m hoping I’m getting closer to menopause soon. Tinnitus is horrible! It’s hard getting older. I’m trying to drink more water. I’ll look into keeping a diary. Thanks for your response! |

I’m 48 (yes I started menopause very early!) and my endometrium is 12mm.
Anyone else have issues with bleeding while taking progesterone? |

I did an econsult with docs at the beginning of this week. Appointment not until 8th Dec. Everything takes so long. The only reason I got the gynae appt and op was because I went private, otherwise I’d still be waiting for the appointment. The dr referred me on a two week pathway in 19th August. I couldn’t, after more than several weeks keep waiting so I took it into my own hands and paid to see the gynae. She couldn’t get a sample in the day so I had to return and gave it under G.A. On 10th October. I’ve got another ultrasound booked for 1st Dec to check again, the cyst was described as a ‘simple clear fluid filled cyst.’ I had a complete abdominal ct scan October 2023 when I was having similar symptoms. They disappeared in 2024 and seem to have returned with a vengeance. My back and hip have been painful too. Couldn’t afford both to be privately MRI scanned , and as docs just gave me physio appointments where she basically told me it was mild arthritis without scanning and told me to do exercises, I arranged a private MRi which cost £380. Lumbar and sacral. No pathology, just wear and tear, slight spondylosis, very slight disc bulge etc. I’ve tried my best for months now using and utilising both the docs and what private docs I could arrange/afford. I’ve certainly been chasing it up. But it still feels day after day that I’m scratching my head and it never goes away. Everything seems to take so long. I honestly believed that I’d have found out what’s wrong or going on way before Christmas, seeing as I started feeling weird in spring. But it has been evolving ever since. I think the current all over abdominal stuff is the last couple of months or so. It’s the time frame that gets to me. Every day that goes by I’m worried that I could be helping but don’t know how.
