I agree with Dawn French when she recently said -  'the unfortunate thing about the menopause is that it steals your memory' !

My husband asked me the other night while he was lying in bed why I could not remember which lightswitch at the top of the stairs turned off the lights on the staircase? After all he said, we have lived here for 16 years ! he has NO idea  >:(
My Dad (in his 90's) quite easily recalls stories from when he was a young boy - I struggle to remember details about 2 days ago !- Looking forward to be able to do that if I reach 90!

Does anyone else have experience this recall problem? Or am I blaming menopause in error  ;D

Age related.

I stood in our house recently wondering which light switch to turn off for the landing lights upstairs ........ and we've lived here for over 24 years  ::) - and I couldn't remember which was the hot and which was the cold tap in our kitchen sink ....... >:(

At work this morning I had asked the Accounts department for a petty cash slip for some petrol money for an errand I had run. I filled it out but didn't take it into Accounts. Later, I found a £5 note on my desk and was asking colleagues if they knew who had put it there. No-one did but the lady who sits next to me (my age) said she was going into Accounts and would ask if they had put it there in anticipation of receiving my petty cash slip.

She came back and said No, they hadn't. We pondered for a few more minutes on who could have put it there until she suddenly said "Oh, I put it there remember ...... when I asked if you would get me some sandwiches from the sandwich van"

We both fell about laughing. The thought that she had been helping me discover who had put it there when all along both of us ought to have remembered, was just so funny.

OMG, what an afternoon! Was supposed to be meeting my friend in Christchurch for the Xmas markets.  Left my mobile at home.  Got on the train, couldn't open the door at Christchurch, ended up at the next stop afterwards, then had to get on the train and come back to Christchurch!  Looked everywhere for her. Came home.  She thought I was on the next train after that so went looking for me.  Got tied up with Santa and his reindeer, then couldn't get through the crowds.  Going to drive over there now to see her!!  ::)

I've done so many stupid things this week, I wouldn't know where to start....think I'm panicking about my forties nearing their end and going into the dreaded f-i-f-t-i-e-s  :o :o

Chatting to a friend last week. He told me that he'd found a dead bird in his garden and asked if we fed them (there is apparently a disease going about that he was going to warn me of)? Well, I couldn't think, for some reason I thought he was talking about bird nesting boxes  :-\ so I said no, then I thought, oh hold on he said feeding, that's bird feeders then not nesting boxes so I then had to say that yes, we did actually feed birds ..... I felt a bit of a dork! Talk about brain woolliness!!
