I find some of the comments here so alarming. Why are we not taken seriously?

The fact that ladies are presenting with symptoms that would cause me to be alarmed and I'm not a doctor- that we are dismissed in a lot of cases as being neurotic when clearly things aren't right. That's all- nothing contentious about what is actually being said by the ladies posting

At a time when we need to be heard and feel vulnerable, many GPs etc. don't listen  :bang:.  When I was depressed I wasn't able to push for what I needed, it was hard enough to walk into the Surgery.  My body language though often gives me away.

I have found that taking a list of symptoms/concerns to my appts. enables me to hand it over so that the Nurse or GP can read it .......

I'm quite bloated today without reason  :sigh:

I have lost all my assertiveNess with authority figures like doctors dentist teachers bosses ....but I practice over and over before I go see doctor it's only one issue so I don't need to write it down luckily.
This bloating is not the average swollen tummy one off bloat all ladies get this is rock hard from morning on an empty stomach and pain...plus 5 days now...I've made an appt for last next week got a cancellation I have to have my ovarian cysts checked anyway before I start hrt so I'll see how the bloat is by then. I can't go to a and e ladies as much as you mean well I'd feel a time waster and I can't face feeling that..

I'll try my best..think I'll fail though..they'll say oh it'll be wind or pmt or menopause or anxiety nothing to worry about and they'll say oh your cysts were years ago they'll have gone...I'll give it a shot though ...

Stick to your guns lovely.

Even if you have to embellish things to get them to listen. It's your right to get any scans or investigations you need. We pay their wages and they're there to do a job.

I really hope you get the treatment and answers you need.

Sending you much love xxx

How much exercise are you able to do daily?  Sometimes we need to get moving in order to ease symptoms.  My belly is bigger by 4.30 p.m.  >:(

Clkd...lots of exercise I'm a dog walker...my stomach stays hard and bloated from 4am when I'm still awake til 12 hours later.of course it's worse after my main evening meal but it's more the fact I missed a period didn't have one for over 9 weeks then get this bloating tummy pain nausea and all out of the blue. I put everything down to menopause buy maybe I have to eliminate other reasons

Hi PB- if you're in Scotland I'll go to the docs with you for moral support if it would help?

I'll let you know how I get on.
And what a lovely thing to offer Michelle sadly I'm in Lancashire but it would have been nice. I don't have a close female friend or sister I don't have contact with my mother and my mother in law is too self absorbed with herself to care about anyone else. Luckily I'm used to doing things alone it's fine ( don't mean my partner of course he's lovely)
