If the urine has been tested with no growth then it's likely to be atrophy. 'vagifem' can be used every night, occasionally putting two up to keep it under control. Some ladies find every 3/6-7th night enough.
Obviously neither knows about vaginal atrophy

. Get some appropriate treatment and use a pain relief 3 times a day for 3 days. ABs do help pain but don't get rid of the lack of oestrogen.
As oestrogen levels drop so the body may become dry: inside and out - deep in the ears, nostrils, skin, vagina, scalp and muscles may become lax = aches and pains. Do read the Vaginal Atrophy threads. Make notes

Some ladies do have embedded infections which need specific treatments. Many GPs don't consider menopause unless the lady is having hot flushes
