Hi Annie reading your information you went through peri for 3 years. Did your symptoms differ much from each stage to another. Just interested in knowing that.

When ovaries were failing after the hysterectomy I had physical problems....night sweats, itching, vaginal dryness etc
But when peri hit I had physical and emotional.....dizzy, palpitations, weakness, no libido, low mood, anxiety, loss of memory to name a few

Concentration is better since being post meno but I have developed VA and continue with low mood on and off and social anxiety and hair loss and get dizzy and nauseous
So many symptoms to list but also headaches

Pam and Tempest, thank you; I'm not out of the woods yet though.

I'll be following your journeys as well and wish you all the best with your endeavours.

It's now 6.5weeks and I have 5.5weeks worth of tablets left.

I'm still feeling energised,  my moods are still stable,  I've only had a couple of days where I've felt 'woe is me" but that's how everyone feels  this time of year.

The  hot flushes,  chills and night sweats have never returned since being banished in week one.

My OH gave me a Android watch for Christmas and I've been notching up my 10,000 steps a day without any aches or pains. Don't get me wrong,  my knees still creak like a door but jogging on the spot and star jumps no longer leave me stiff as a board, or groaning everytime I get up or sit down.

I plan to see my gp in a couple of weeks for a repeat prescription but will ask for the higher dosage 5mg,  not the 2.5 that I'm on at present.
That would be an excellent start to what has been an awful 2016 which is still claiming the lives of some of the finest people in the entertainment world. Debbie Reynolds being the latest.

Ditto. Blake grey

This is my update with great news after years of trying everything. I have just had the best Christmas I have had in years and have laughed naturally so much and not had to put that face on infront of everyone. I am going out again today as most Christmas by now I just hated it and everyone around me especially my poor hubby, haha.
I have been on tribone and testosterone gel three times a week, for last four weeks now, and yes I have the odd day that is not as good but nothing compared to my previous life! I wake up happy it's so strange and I love people again and going out, it's great. My old life keep me inside and sleeping for days at a time in total despair and lots of anxiety, racing heart etc.
It's rather strange as in my head I have tried to go back to those horrible places in my head but they are just not there anymore, the cloud has lifted at long last, I just pray that this lasts but I now know that I can be my former self again.
Happy new year to everyone and yes I am going to celebrate this year instead of staying in and going to bed early as I was so tired xxx

wow.... tempted to try Tibolone again after reading these posts.

Mojo - how long have you been taking Tibolone?? and may I ask which other HRT did you try with no success.

I used Tibulone for 20 days with some positives but VA became unbearable. Was never offered Vagifem........ so I am going to chat with my GP next week.

Got up this morning to read both Mojo and Blackegray's report on Tibolone. Even Sooze gave it thumbs up. I am so please for you both and mojo I fully understand that feeling of getting up in morning feeling happy. Just gives me some hope. Thanks for Annie also for her advice as well. I just feel blessed today with you all around. I will be catching up with gynae in Jan and will be on tibolone for 4 weeks by then and ask about putting upto 2.5 mg.
This extract from tibolone for perimenopausal women research from Monash Uni Melbourne:
All three women were diagnosed with either de novo perimenopausal depression or, in the case of Ms B, perimenopausal exacerbation of depression.Tibolone, a newer form of hormone treatment, was prescribed for each patient, and improvement in mood was noted by each woman within 6–8 weeks. In particular, anxiety and panic symptoms improved markedly.
Just trying to stay postivie. God bless.

And I'm envious of those of you who have been prescribed testosterone. I'm sure that's the missing piece of the puzzle for me.

I'm so glad you are feeling better but without wishing to be a killjoy I am worried about the fact you are taking testosterone as well as tibolone, because the effects of testosterone take some months to become fully effective so you may well be tipping the balance towards testosterone and experience androgenic side effects somewhere down the line. I'm not sure how this can be monitored since the metabolites of Tibolone are not the same as testosterone so I don't know how a blood tests could determine whether your dose is too high  :-\. Is this through a UK gynae?
