Estrogen. And testosterone.

Plus a progestogen if you have a uterus.

Supplements are not going to help, HRT is what you need and the only remedy that will help your symptoms, it really is as simple as that.

Unfortunately you've posted on a forum that is very HRT pro.

Personally, I'd take HRT if it made me feel better and I could - but, for whatever reason, it makes me very ill. But I'd take it because I'm very poorly with no quality of life.

But according to Chatgpt about 14-15% of menopausal women in UK use HRT, meaning 85-86% do not. I dont believe for one min that 85% of post meno women are suffering really badly. Certainly the women I know are not.

So, if you are just looking for a bit of support, prefer the natural approach - I say that's fine. Why not?!?

That said I think there's a lot of money being made on duff natural 'solutions'.

So, I'll pay it forward. I've just seen one of THE top meno doctors in the UK. And Femarelle was recommended as a natural.alternative to HRT. Apparently it's the only supplement with research findings backing it.

Have a look. Understand I haven't used this product. But neither had I ever heard of it. But as I say, recommend by a top meno expert.

Worth a look.

And if you do try it, please can you let us know how you get on. Xx

We don't have to take supplements but they have their place depending on age and what medications we take. I am 76, not on systemic HRT but take supplements that I know are doing me good, for instance zinc reversing years of being pre-diabetic. You will learn as time goes by what your body might need for a healthy old age.

If your menopause symptoms are not well controlled you should speak to your doctor about adjusting your treatment.

The way I would decide if anything is a good treatment for menopause or not is to ask yourself if healthy ovaries secrete this substance or any analogue of it.

If they do not, then it is unlikely to be a good treatment for menopause.

In terms of supplementation the only thing I would universally recommend is vitamin D3 as most of the UK population of any age and gender do not receive enough either via sunlight or dietary sources.

However this is nothing to do with menopause.
