If you are having problems I would be inclined to switch to Cerazette. Bomb mentioned it on here last year so I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised - no side effects but I only take 75mcg every day.
I was about to try dydrogesterone but after a lot of research decided against it because it doesn't suppress FSH and LH as well as Cerazette. That is vital for me because I have migraine auras but I've since been reading about the benefits of FSH and LH suppression so perhaps it affects other women in different ways. It's worth reading up on it.
Mary did the 75mg suppress your ovaries?
Vicky, yes, Cerazette suppressed FSH and LH and stops ovulation. Even though I'm very post menopause, that matters because the pituitary gland carries on sending signals for life which is why post menopause women have high levels of FSH.
By suppressing FSH and LH you create a more stable hormone environment and that is why Cerazette helps women like me who suffer with migraine auras. I would assume that suppression could help other women who have other issues associated with hormone imbalance.
Pre menopause Cerazette reduces your own oestrogen levels but it doesn't do that post menopause when you supplement it with exogenous oestrogen ie Oestrogel.
I would try the 75mcg Cerazette on its own. Having used both myself, I would say Cerazette has fewer side effects than Slynd and in my case (obviously irrelevant to you) it was far better at controlling migraine auras.
I hope it works for you!
