Jillydoll - I Really hope that his recovery continues in this very positive way.
Just a bit of a word of caution, my husband had a massive bowel op in 2020. He too made a very good recovery, this being the case they moved him out of the high dependency unit to the normal ward. As it turned out he liked being on the HDU better - it was much quieter!

Angrier than I've been for a while.  I've read the leaflet in the box with the ABs and it states 'not to be taken with X, Y, Z' and yep, I take 2 out of those 3  >:( :bang:

The pharmacist should surely have asked what drugs I take regularly?  We were waiting there for a good 20 mins. for the boxes to be broken and mixed because they didn't have the full amount in stock and it's a common AB so should have been on the shelves!

I don't think that I will get much sleep as I am too angry.

Surely the doctor should have picked this up though? They would know what other medication you are on. I'd start by complaining to the surgery.

It was the dentist who prescribed this and yes he has all my medications on record, but not the OTT that I've bought recently.  The Pharmacist is the final boulder in the pile and should ask the questions.  Especially as many people are on statins.

Thank you Songbird. 😊

Ha yes Limpy, OH likes a room on his own in a ward, but if ones not available he'll be in a bay with about 3 others.
He likes the quiet too.

🤣🤣 omg. Poor bugger would be mortified.
Those gowns are really a bad design aren't they. 🤣

Had a scare earlier. He had the chills and his temperature spiked to 38.2......suggests an infection.
Doc came checked him over. Said it was normal for temperature to go up and to have chills after such trauma to the body.
They've taken bloods anyway just to make sure.

Delayed reaction?  Probably too happy too soon and not giving his body time to adjust to a long session with GA.  I remember sleeping for hours after, then woke at 4.00 p.m., with a feeling that the anaesthetic had left my body: I was ready for tea and toast ;-).  That happened twice: surgeries were 9 days apart.

Did U sleep last night jillydoll?

Kept waking. Every couple hours, I'd look at the clock.
Then awake from half 6.
Loooonnng day today its been.
That hospital is massive. Like a maze inside. At least it keeps us fit having to walk and negotiate which corridor to go down.  ;D

Morning.  Do the different depts have a different coloured arrow to negotiate round the maze?  Until U reach the correct ward?

Too early to tell here.

No. Just have to keep reading the signs, his ward at the moment is right next to the theatres.
He should move soon. He's just waiting for a discharge letter from them.

He's good again today, can't sleep much regardless of all the drugs he's on. Its too noisy.
Catheter out today, he's very pleased with that, and tomorrow the neck one's come out.
He's been for a walk again, and doing his lung exercises ok, the nerve pain lines will stay in another couple days tho.
So far, so good.

This is all sounding good, Jill. So pleased it’s going well 👍x

Had a ok day. Took the Cockapoo over to see my mum. She loves the way he does a doodle dash round her kitchen, in to the lounge and then dives upstairs and jumps on her bed - avoiding the stairlift of course  ;D
Got my nails done too 💅

Thanks CLKD. ...😊

Yes Songbird. Very promising so far. Let's hope he keeps it up.

I've had a bad head for three days. Not sure if it's due to stopping my HRT abruptly.  But Doctors orders. 🤷‍♀️
Plus cramps from this bleeding I'm having.
Booked in for hystoscopy week Friday, ......when does all our bad luck end! 🤷‍♀️  :'(
