Hello again ladies..

I grew up in a densely populated part of London and everyone had open coal fires. The general air quality was horrendous and 'Pea Soupers' were still occurring in the late 1950s.
The introduction of The Clean Air Act made a huge difference to the health of everyone and numbers of people being hospitalised with lung problems dropped considerably.

It took a while for the old coal fires to be replaced by oil heaters initially and then central heating but it was worth the wait.
Personally I wouldn't want to see a return of smoke filled air and all that goes with it.

I would love to see modern property developers include solar panels etc but perhaps it would eat into their profits too much?

As we are moving to electric vehicles to reduce emissions and save the planet so perhaps wood burning stoves need to be part of that conversation?

Just my two penneth worth but this topic brought back memories of terrible air quality in our homes and streets and believe me no one wants to live like that.

Take care ladies.

Aww thank you Kathleen.
I've only just seen your post to me, so apologies.

Anxieties are rising. Not sure if we'll sleep tonight. 🙏

Hello again Jillydoll.

It is understandable that you are feeling anxious, who wouldn't?

Hopefully everything will go well tomorrow and you can all begin to relax a little.

Wishing you well and please keep us updated.

Take care and sending hugs.

Thank you everyone. Means a lot.

He's had the op, went down about 11am.
Dr rang us about 5pm or so.
He told us the operation had gone well, no surprises when they went in, and they didn't need to go through his back.
That's brilliant, OH was dreading them doing that, ..but the doc did say he'd got a rather large cut down the middle of his body.
They'd got the margins they were looking for, so he was very pleased.
Also, he told us that he'd removed the breathing tube already.
He'll stay in Epoc over night and hopefully be moved to high dependency tomorrow.

We'll go up tomorrow,  no visiting today. Understandable.
So far so good.
I'll keep praying. 🙏😢
What a day! I'm exhausted.  😮‍💨

Thanks again ladies for your well wishes. xx

Jillydoll,

That's amazing that things went on such a good way. Your OH sounds a strong person if the breathing tube is removed already. A determination to recover from such a major op. You must be exhausted after the day yet exhilarated too and tomorrow you get to see him in person, that will reassure you. Obviously he will be connected to all the beepy machines and be battered.... But today is done and seems to have gone as well as can be.

I wish you both well xx

It must be such a relief for you that it has all gone to plan Jill. One step at a time. Have a good restful night and seeing him tomorrow will be exactly what you need.
Sending you both lots of positive thoughts and love xx

Thank you Sage and SarahT & Songbird.

Yes, I'm totally knackered, ....Happy, ...but feel I have to suppress the happiness incase something happens. Does that make sense?  On a back burner even though it all went well, I know he's not out of the woods yet.
By the sounds of it, the op couldn't have gone any better. Sadly,  according to the doc who rang us, that that's not always the case when they actually go in.  So he's a lucky one.
