Menopause Matters magazine ISSUE 81 out now. (Autumn issue, September 2025)
Thanks Limpy. I'll leave a note asking for the specific things mum needs help with. I thought it would be obvious but apparently not. I had already specified what was required b4 discharge.Thing is - mum can make toast, pop a meal in microwave and make tea. She needs help with personal care, prompting with meds and dressing and undressing but they seem keen on keeping her in her pyjamas!Should carers be changing soiled sheets? I did it today as soon as I got to mum's but really thought it would be something they would do Just noticed you had replied CLKD . Mum has 2 blister packs for meds. They can hand the pills to mum and ensure she takes them. District nurse was at the house today. Mum has bed sores so she tended to that.I insisted on a care package before discharge. I was pretty assertive. I met some resistance but I was having none of it! I made it clear what care mum needed but, in reality, very little of the actual needs are met but a kind of generic care is given (and it's simply not what mum needs). Thanks for listening ladies
