Clematis wilting a bit  :-\

Cleared the ponds of 'duck weed' AGAIN  >:(.  It grows fast.  Goes into the compost, but even so: twice a week required   ::).  We can see the fish again  ;)

Light lunch
Supermarket shop done

Garden centre - saw a stunning agapanthus in a pot, been tempted for several years - now I need to learn how to care for it  ::)
DH bought a fly zapper 4 the kitchen which plugs in  :-\

Now settling down for le Tour  :-*

Thanks Limpy. I'll leave a note asking for the specific things mum needs help with. I thought it would be obvious but apparently not. I had already specified what was required b4 discharge.
Thing is - mum can make toast, pop a meal in microwave and make tea.
She needs help with personal care, prompting with meds and dressing and undressing but they seem keen on keeping her in her pyjamas!
Should carers be changing soiled sheets? I did it today as soon as I got to mum's but really thought it would be something they would do  :-\
Just noticed you had replied CLKD  ::).
Mum has 2 blister packs for meds. They can hand the pills to mum and ensure she takes them. District nurse was at the house today. Mum has bed sores so she tended to that.
I insisted on a care package before discharge. I was pretty assertive. I met some resistance but I was having none of it! I made it clear what care mum needed but, in reality, very little of the actual needs are met but a kind of generic care is given (and it's simply not what mum needs).
Thanks for listening ladies  :foryou:

Hi,

IAM really new to this chat . Just as long you know that your mum should really be assessed in the house. So after she's been discharged someone from the care company should pop in to do assessment of needs? Defenently should change bedding if your mum is incontinent, everything depend on the company but someone should be out to speak to yous...

Phone them everyday if you need to 😁

Oh, enjoy Moffat Jaypo. My brother often takes his motorhome there and has a lovely time in the pub  ;)

Thanks Ania. Things are improving actually. OT and physio have been out. Mum's getting a wheelchair. Shower room is being adapted. Mum's recent incontinence episodes have been attributed to a dreadful prolapse (I was shocked tbh). Luckily i got an urgent gyn appointment for her on Tues so 🤞.
I've started leaving notes for the carers re what I'm expecting on a daily basis. Didn't think it was required but they would appear to be in need of some direction  ???
I'm the very one to do that! They don't call me "dog with a bone" Songbird for nothing.  ;D

Mum's doing pretty well considering what she's been through at her age, CLKD. Her confidence has been shaken but I'm trying to get her to focus on getting out in the car with me again. We have a lot of fun when we're out and about  ::)
It's not the same 4 carers every time. I'll tell you what though, her absolute favourite is a 40 year old male carer 😲😁 that takes his time and shows great compassion and skill with an elderly lady.

I bet he has an elderly female relative in his history ;-) and if he's Sri Lankan, they have a background of caring roots.  It will be lovely to hear when you get out and about with your Mum.

I'm keeping everything 🤞CLKD..
I'm enjoying the tennis today. I do hope the young Spaniard, Alcaraz, wins. Novak Djokovic seems to attract controversy every time he plays 😬.
I'm really not in to football but I will watch on Sunday. Come on England  :)

Ooh I love a good gala, me. I was never picked as Gala Queen at our local event 😫. I'm not bitter or anything  ;D
The 40yr old male carer appeared whilst I was at mum's this afternoon. Geez, she didn't half perk up let me tell you. He looks like that guy from the Head and Shoulders advert  ;)

On my way Songbird, tell Mum to move over  ;D

Watched men in Lycra.  Now letting a few beans on new bread go down B4 we go out to a 'do'.  ::). It's that or go to sleep on the sofa.
