Upset
« on: July 08, 2022, 09:24:17 AM »

Hi all

Sorry to post again,, but I've got up today feeling so bad,, low mood,, quite angry feel. I've slept like a log and could barely get myself up.
I've had covid as you know and been negative for 4 days now.
I feel like I did when peri was first starting (but anxiety not as bad)
I'm at my wits end as I was really getting somewhere and now I feel I've took a huge step back. I just feel so emotional.

I have nothing inside me,, just sat on the bed again. Awful.

I'm on zoely pill (restarted from sunday) and I'm just hoping now that covid hadnt stopped it from working.

I have a gp calling me this m6who specialises in covid (so the receptionist told me) so il see what he says.

Thanks in advance to you all.

Love vic xxx

I hope you feel better soon. I think you're still on the covid zone, some people are affected for a long time afterwards.

Hi Vicky
You have had a horrible virus which can really take it out of  anybody who gets it.
I know it's horrible when you think you've been improving only to start feeling rotten again.
Sadly I don't know enough to give specific medical advice, just didn't want to just ignore your post.

Bear in mind you HAD been starting to improve - when you get over the covid your body will improve again.
Hopefully the GP will give you some useful advice.
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Vicky. I really am sorry to hear you are feeling low. I understand you thinking it may be the HRT etc, but it could also be Covid. Covid is really exhausting and that in itself will make you feel low. When we have no energy it is hard to feel out usual selves. I think it may help to give yourself some time to rest and just relax. You sound like the kind of person who is always busy and I am guessing not being able to do your usual things may also be making you feel low.

If there is a programme you enjoy or something you like listening to then maybe that is something you can do. We cannot do anything really when feeling unwell.

I had Covid and then had long Covid for about 5 or 6 months. I was really fatigued and could not do much. Luckily, it has passed. Be kind to yourself.  :)

I know people who have had Covid who have felt really rubbish emotionally for a little while afterwards. I echo the above advice to rest and look after yourself as much as you can.
Hope you feel better soon.

Flossie- you had fatigue for 5/6 months?,

Nicodemus- oh so the emotional symptoms are common ?, how long did they last with the people you know had it? X

Jaypo- so was it the results if your fit test that caused the anxiety for you?, xxx

I think viruses of any kind can really take it out of you ! I’ve just had/having a virusey type thing and it’s brought my hot flushes on again horribly and I feel rubbish. Although it’s so hard to unpick what is virus and what is hormones (day 29 so things going on).

Covid is particularly bad, when I had it (before vaccine but when you could all test) I was convinced I was going to die because we’d had it drilled into us so much. That anxiety made things 100 times worse.

In my CBT I did recently I did a lot about “intolerance of uncertainty” which as you know is a big CBT area of work. In other words anxious people try to get comfort (and certainty) from trying to immediately fix the problem or somehow predict the future ….only leads to more anxiety.

But life isn’t certain and nothing we do can make it so. We need to accept that sometimes we don’t know what will happen in the future. I find that terribly hard as I’ve had years of trying to plan and control every little thing.

Better to concentrate on how things are right now …. If you feel ill, rest, can you make adjustments to help….can you cancel engagements, can you get someone to help with chores. Would meditation or going for a walk help right now etc. Can you cut down on googling symptoms etc, are you eating well enough, is there something that could be keeping you busy…that sort of thing.

Of course you can work towards making your life better. These things take time though, there are no instant fixes. But all the trying to fix things should be going on in the background with appropriate patience, not an everyday way of living.

Hope some of this helps

My son, he was 19 at the time, caught Covid at very start of Pandemic. He was pretty sick and it took him 6 weeks to recover but i was worried for a year following as he became very anxious person especially when people got near him in queues and on public transport.

I feel bad as he was very frightened when he was ill with Covid and shut himself away in room as he was terrifed that he would give it to his younger sister who has heart defect. He is a cuddly person and i couldn't give him those hugs he needed.

So just spoke to GP, he tells me that covid doesn't interfere with contraceptive pill or antidepressant.
Told him how I felt etc but didn't gave any answers really.

Just makes me wonder why I feel so low in mood then if it doesn't interact with medication....plus the jittery anxiety feel,?? Hmm

Hi nas

Erm....no I'm very happy with the duloxetine (AD)

But I came off marvelon after 6 days to go back to zoely as I thought this was the cause of the jitters etc.
Been on zoely now for 6 days. Looking at my journal the last time I took it I was on it for 24 days....no jitters etc. So it can't be the zoely can it?, of it was ok wiyh me prior?? Xx
