Hi  everyone,

Sorry about the issues you're having.

I am the same and today I felt particularly overwhelmed anxious and tearful.  The psychological symptoms are, in my  opinion,  the worst but I don't believe they last forever and I should hope not.  I will be 51 in October and it seems that I've already reached the menopause as I haven't had a period for nearly 18 months now.  I am not on HRT but I have started taking something called Femarelle as it promotes normal psychological function.

Wannabewell - I think you are right about letting yourself relax after such a terrible day. Glad the hrt is working.

KarineT- I agree, the psychological effects are the worst. Feels like you’re going mad. X

Glad about the progress you are both making today. My sleep is not good either. I am sure I have too much cortisol as you suggest but can’t seem to get rid of it. I’ve just opened a bottle off wine, only one glass mind. Cheers and hugs to you lovely ladies. My day is still full of nerves but I’m trying to accept it and stay calm x

Hi shell babes
Enjoy your wine … I’ve still been bit nervy today but no where near as bad as past few months .. I’ve struggled for months with this aniexty but today as been a much better day … I take each day as it comes as we all know that can change in a instant ..
I do hope you have a better evening & day tomorrow

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping you’re all having as good a day as is possible.

Reading through the posts a few things resonate with me, especially the ‘feeling so different in evening’.  This has been very noticeable to me for years and I really don’t understand it.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s because I finally allow myself to fully relax after making it through another day of fatigue, nil energy, pain, anxiety etc. The last few months (prior to me staring HRT) I had developed progressively worse cyclical depression which literally felt like something had taken over my mind .. it was scary.

I feel more like “me” (in my mind/mood) since starting HRT but not as much as the initial days on oestrogen which were fantastic. I felt back to my normal carefree happy giggly girlie self. I’m hoping that some tweaks along the line can provide that.

Hugs  :)
Hi wannabe

I’m glad HRT as improved things for you .. it’s mad how we all go through this which we think should be the most naturalist thing in the world to us

I hate aniexty with a passion .. it’s been literally none stop for me for few months .. it was something  new I had never experienced it before

Today as been a better day for me and I hope for more .. but each day I take as it comes … evenings we all relax and I don’t know why … but I’m thankful for it.

Good luck with your HRT .. seems to be doing you good. Xxx

Hi Karine
100% agree that they are worse
I’m 47 and still regular periods but other systems ..
like you I’m not on HRT .. I tried but I believed it made Aniexty for me worse .. but I also maybe think my body wasn’t ready for it as maybe I didn’t need it as much as I thought & maybe overloaded my body with hormones .. which I’m now waiting for them to settle & pray they do.

It’s awful this peri / menopause.. I hope you feel better soon .. days like yours today are the worst
We take it each day as it comes as I’ve had a good day today & I wanna get excited for tomorrow but I won’t but I hope tomorrow is good like today

Only thing I’ve done different today .. is vitamin c & d this morning and eaten more as I know I need to get my usual eating habits back
So for two days now I’ve eaten little more than I have for over a month
Burning don’t seem to bad today and I started taking omzerpole again .. so maybe all this is kinda helping ( I hope so )

Hope your days get better hun Xxx

Thankyou shell babes and I do hope you have more better days …
Things can only get better :)

I think the extra food will help me fuel up to fight other things .. as my appetite went and weight dropped off
But hoping this time the burning subsides so I can carry on eating and actually enjoy it.

Here’s to better days for us Xx

There is one thing though.

A lady who works in the food supplement industry told me that drinking a lot of water every day helps low mood.

I keep a positive mind by believing that the menopause is a phase that we, women, all have to go through until things settle down.  When it comes to aches and pains we have to accept the fact that ageing plays a major part and the menopause should not take the blame all the time.

I am glad I am now in post menopause because I was worried peri was going to last for a very long time.

Hi again Karine
I drink lots of water .. my mood is never low to be honest only when this aniexty sets in .. I don’t feel low as such , just get annoyed that I can’t handle it when infact I should be able too .. if that makes sense .
Aches and pains for me are a doddle compared to aniexty .. In April I wouldn’t have said that .. I was moaning about one thing or another pain wise … but after experiencing aniexty .. I’ll take the pains back anyday
Infact if this aniexty went .. I would I think handle the rest of symptoms so much better as I’m aware now
We are all getting older
I’m glad your post menopause
I’m very much at the beginning of peri well maybe a year or so into it.
I’ll take it all on chin once this aniexty goes .. or at least a only rears it’s ugly head once a month be easier to handle

We will get through this … :)

Hi Michelle,

Glad you had a good day, it’s a blessed relief to get one of those.

I’m having a quiet, restful day. I’m quite tense and not much energy, very weak and in pain. Mood is okay, not giggly buoyed but quite stable. Underlying anxiety, not too bad.

How’s your day so far?

xx

Hi Michelle7474

Anxiety can be difficult to control.  When I get anxious it's panic-like.  I get the typical butterflies in the stomach, the racing heart and  I sometimes feel overwhelmed.  This is definitely a horrible feeling.

Hi Karine

How are you today

Yes it is most definitely hard to control & even though you know it will pass eventually it does not stop the panic

Mine starts with a feeling of unease like butterflies in Pitt of stomach, from that my heart races and feels it’s coming out my chest and then i get a feeling of I’m gonna pass out & head rush and like someone is sitting on my shoulders .. all this why I’m shaking & trying to relax myself ( sometimes impossible )
I know my BP goes sky high but I know not to take a reading when I’m like this as it will panic me more .. this as happened a few times… so now I don’t check when I’m having a episode
Would you think this is cortisol surge ?
When it first happened I was in total shock of what is happening to my body .. am I gonna die which obviously sets off panic even more ..
even now I sometimes think the same but the more it happens the more I try and ignore it.
Mine settles by evening most of the time .. but sometimes feels like it lingers all day and it’s draining
If I didn’t feel I was gonna pass out I would handle it much better I think .. although I would rather it not happen at all

At the moment I feel ok .. not as good as yesturday but ok :)
Where as this morning was nervous & legs shaking and just generally feeling wobbly

Hope your day is a good day :)

Hi wanna
Today is ok .. not as good as yesturday but it can turn out great I suppose as it’s still early :)
Was nervous this morning ad shaking legs arms etc .. and like wobbly but as the day as gone on that as not been so bad .. I hope it stays that way
I just worked my self through house work and tried not to let it over take my morning .. then after I was finished I sat down :)

I’m glad your having a quiet restful day and I hope your body dont feel too tense for long
It’s such an awful feeling
I do hope your aches and pains subside ..
I like everyone can’t wait to have a great week where I don’t feel like this
It’s a daily occurrence and as previously said some worse than others…
I’ve kept up with my eating .. and happy to say I’ve put on 1lb lol not a lot I know but when you have just been constantly losing it .. that little 1lb is good to see added
Someone told me to eat regular times throughout the day
So I eat breakfast .. then I’ll have banana then few hours later a sandwich/baguette & fruit
Then later I will snack on somthing
Until my main meal
That’s worked so far for the past 3 days .. with a good food intake I can start hopefully to feel slightly stronger in myself ..

It don’t stop the aniexty or these feelings but it’s something I needed to get back as losing appitite wasn’t as good thing , so I’m working on one thing at a time :)

Enjoy your Sunday relaxing wanna & I do hope everything else subsides for you
Xxx
