Watched a tiny little mouse in the garden, it didn't seem to mind an audience  :) he was about the size of a grape, if an owl gets him it will be a snack size hardly worth the effort  ???

Googled wood mouse, yes it was, it had massive back feet but a pretty face with beady eyes  :)

Sitting quietly on our patio earlier feeding birds with meal worms we could see great tit parents shredding the guts out of each worm B4 carrying them into the next box  :-*. Suddenly a lot of noise: like a bird was nagging a cat/sparrow hawk and eventually a male black cap flew across the garden.  Haven't seen one for ages.

We caught sight of a mouse on the night camera darting around it didn't stay still long enough to identify it.

We are going to cut a chunck out of the bottom of the back gate. Our resident hedgehog is now having trouble getting under it.

Well done!  There are several gaps under our fences and they use them all, caught on camera ;-)

We've just had our fencing replaced and the fencing company offered us Hedgehog Highway gravel boards. So good to know the word is getting out there.

That's fantastic Taz - well done to that fencing company.

The Chi' peregrines have all 4 eggs hatched. I've been watching them on the RSPB website. They are so cute.

The Norwich Cathedral ones are doing well too
There was a man drilling a hedgehog 'hole' into a fence on TV last night - couldn't get a mouse through it  >:(

Are they shown on a webcam CLKD - do you watch them?
I watch the Chi ones every single day.

I haven't seen them this year though have watched the web-cam previously.  A friend who has 'a view' lets me know - one caught a pigeon in front of the crowds last week and took it to the fledglings  ::)

Does anyone know when this years Springwatch begins. I've looked on their website but can't find any information.

I haven't seen a sparrow for years😢 they were abundant when I lived in Aberdeen but here in Wiltshire I never see them AND we're rural, does anyone know why that would be?plenty of the tit family, wagtails and swifts but that's it as far as little birds go

That's so strange Jaypo, we have gangs of them chasing through the hedges chirping most days and have a couple of nests in the soffits around the house and I'm not that far from you x

We have lots of sparrows too. Farming practices can have an impact on local populations though.
