We've just booked two nights at the Randolph Hotel in Oxford for hubby's birthday in mid-March.  He's wanted to stay there for ages (we are both big fans of Inspector Morse, Lewis and Endeavour - the Randolph makes regular appearances!), more so after we had a day in Oxford last year that was too rushed - we definitely wanted to take more time over the place.  So, now he's got his new car (eminently suitable for a Morse-themed break  ;) ), we've booked.  I'm really looking forward to it (don't like having to put the dog in kennels, but needs must).

That sounds fantastic.  We are fans of those programmes too.  We spent a day in Oxford years ago and did the Morse tour it was brilliant .

We're spending a weekend at Robin Hoods Bay at Easter, hubby doesn't consider going away in this country a holiday but I'm looking forward to it x

Yes CLKD it's a really good pub crawl, as long as you start at the bottom and work your way up and not the other way round x

;D ......... there's a nice gem shop half way up 4 a break: and did you see one of the cottages on a programme recently - the patio has a large concrete sheep?  It's lovely inside.  Not that I would like to force the owner from his cottage but Oh That View!  :D

I'll look out for the gem shop.  We're staying in a b&b at the top we can never get in the cottages on the main drag they're always booked up way in advance. No I didn't see the program but it is a very pretty place.  We're planning on doing a walk along the cliff tops x

It was our 1st visit to Whitby so we drove along the coast and as I had been to the Bay years ago and Himself hadn't, we had to go take a look-see  ;)

Oxford trip on Thursday - really looking forward to it - it's been mental at work for the last few weeks and I can't wait to have a long weekend break.

Other than that, we were thinking of going to France later in the year - Disneyland for a couple of days, then to Normandy to visit the beaches.  But we are having our kitchen and bathroom gutted and re-done, and probably the gardens done too (well - yards, but they desperately need repaving), so no further holidays away from our caravan this year.  I'm fine with that - I love the 'van, and the new kitchen and bathroom are seriously exciting!

It's 10 years since we had a new bathroom, designed by yours truly, every night I look at it and give a sigh of contentment  ;)
