We have a small caddy for food waste which is collected weekly and taken for burning. Food is put into composting bags which I also use in the camper. The lid locks so no worries about animals getting into it.
We have 3 bins - 1 gets emptied of household rubbish i.e. plastic which isn't recycled; the others: 1 for mowings, weeds etc. and the other for plastic, card, paper, foil, plastic food trays, yoghurt pots ….. are emptied alternate week to the household bin.  We also have 2 compost bins in the garden so kitchen roll/tissues, paper, card goes in there along with weeds from the garden ………. we also have a shredder, which we argue over  ;D

Most of my food waste goes on the bird table - not that there is much of it when my son's around!

They had the  5p charge on all carriers in ALL shops in Wales for ages now,you soon start to learn to carry your own bags with you at all times !  :D

I usually carry my own - we have several in the car boot and a few in the camper.  It's remembering to actually carry them to the store that's my problem  ;D

We've survived in Scotland too. You get used to it. I did order some plastic carriers online though which work out at 1p per bag. Even takeaways charge 5p per bag. I've got bags in boot of car, but do I remember them?

I keep a carrier bag in my handbag and a few in the car, but still get caught out!

We have several types of bag in various sizes.  Not quite a 'sholley' girl yet though  ;D

I just had to pay 5p in a shop where we were buying hubby a jacket. Blooming jacket was less than cheap.....think they could give me a free bag  ::)

Our local fishmonger gets his customer to put a donation into a choice of two boxes....one for the Seamans Mission and one for the RNLI......now that I don't mind at all.

Supermarkets are giving the money charged (5p per bag) to local 'good causes' - apparently  ::).  What happens if 1 doesn't agree with the 'good cause' …..

Why not have cardboard carriers which can be re-used until ready for the compost bin  :-\
