Nothing special- New Years Eve makes me feel maudlin for some reason.  Always just me, hubby and son watching a good film followed by Jools Holland, a glass of something nice followed by bed.

Happy New Year to everyone, however you spend it

When my hubby first came to Scotland he went to a coal mining thingy and got to mine some coal. When we went first footing we took a bit of the coal with us. Run out years ago.

I do the door open to see out the old and then daughter and boyfriend will first foot us. He is tall and dark so will do just fine  ;D

There will be fireworks around us which my dog ignores.

When I was little I used to lie in bed listening for all the boats to sound the horns. Doesn't happen any more but that's my memory.

My granddad used to make huge pot of soup so when you first footed him you got whiskey and lentil soup.

My son is in with us tonight. He has had a long day at work and a long drive and can't be bothered going out. All the good pubs in our nearest town are ticket only events and he doesn't have a ticket this year.

Happy New Year when it comes ladies.

I shout profanities at the fireworks closely followed by shushing the dogs that are scared by the fireworks! Not a NYE lover at all I hope to be in bed but will stay awake to make sure all is fine with my beasties. If I had to choose I would like to go to a concert tonight, Simply Red maybe nothing too raucous & definitely indoors! Happy New Year everyone Spring will be upon us soon :) xx

Daughter (visiting for Christmas) is out with friends.  Hubby and I are in, keeping warm and hearing a ton of fireworks going off in the garden opposite.  We'll have a glass of whisky each, with the bells, watch a bit of Hogmanay TV (we both miss I.M. Jolly!), then head for bed.

I slept through it all, having hardly slept at all the night before.

Good morning and a healthy, happy and peaceful 2015 to everyone.
