Hope there is room in there CLKD  ;D

I pack the evening before I go and not before....Don't see the point. I have always been the same even when I was packing for young children and it was not so much packing as breaking camp  ::)

It's all clean anyway, so straight from the drawer to the case.

Years ago I would pack weeks in advance in case panic attacks put me into bed and I was unable to do it.  Then various family members were hospitalised and we learnt to throw an overnight case 2-gether in moments!  Now I pack in my head ……….  :D

No holidays planned for the foreseeable future then don't know where we'll be visiting ... finances permitting on 1 State Pension !!  Dad used to say - 'Ya could go to Ar-gate' ..  he was a Yorkshireman

Never felt so barassic / skint

Enjoy your holidays though

Meggie you are in the middle of huge upheaval!  We do have plenty of places to visit in the UK in fact, DH and I have managed each away stay in the sunshine  :o …….. museums are usually free, walking is free, looking at the area you live in with 'new' eyes can be interesting ……..

Thanks for 'grounding' me - I'm seeing the future as rather daunting.  Got to get out of the French mindset 'cause if I don't I'll always be disappointed, won't I ?

WHAT AM I SAYING - AS LONG AS WE'RE TOGETHER AGAIN IT WILL BE OK

I agree!     when DH and I were first together all I wanted was for us to be together  ;) - as we got more money behind us we talked about doing other things such as holidays, initially camping - when we bought a dog and my anxiety levels became awful, we went self-catering which suited us …… and the dog.  We also used quiet pet friendly hotels but I wasn't able to go down for meals.

With the help of medication I eventually managed to face the breakfast room and rarely have the same worries these days.  We also bought a small camper van - spending some of our Pension - whereas years ago I would never have considered using 'shared' facilities!

Acceptance will come.  You need to grieve for the loss of the French dream which you both enjoyed.  Then you will be able to move to where you need to be ………. fortunately we are able to be together and enjoy each other's company. (see my PM to you ;-) )

Hope you are OK Meggie?

Just off to the coast of Devon for a couple of days camping - the last time before the dark cold days of winter. Sounds like it won't be too cold and wet....

You have a good holiday HB!!! Your sister is there to look after your mum. You know you'd do it for your sister if she were away.

Have a lovely holiday HB.

I'm on holiday in 75 minutes and counting - a whole week off! DH has book us into a lovely guest house near Windermere for two nights. The rest of the time we are day tripping and using our NT membership.
