I remember Callender being lovely, it's where Dr Finlay's Casebook was filmed all those years ago  :)

Nope, just Loch &  Ben Lomond.  Like Flower of Scotland it makes hairs stand up on the back of my neck.

I love Flower of Scotland and The Skye Boat Song. Two of my favourites.

I just love it. I remember singing it as a very little girl with my dad as we went on the boat...over the sea to skye. No bridge in those days.
Mind you .....No Erskine Bridge either......remember that CG ?

Oh yes, I remember it well. Ferry crossings in those days. Also remember regular boat trips up the Clyde to Tighnabruaich. Used to be boat trips on a regular basis from the docks in Glasgow. Ah, those were the days.

<wave> back ………. been to an antiques fair for 2 days which meant an over-nighter in our  camper, we met several traders we know, bought a few 'bits' and met up with friends for a drink last night.

"drive up Loch Lomond" …………  ??? ………. not beside it then  ;D

I'm off to Malaysia in five days' time - going with my elderly dad, to keep an eye on him and make sure he's okay.   I haven't really looked forward to it up to now, but I think I'm beginning to look forward to the trip.  It'll be nice when we get there, as we're going to stay with some Malaysian friends.  Things I'm maybe not looking forward to??  Being stuck in a plane for eleven hours, following a four-hour first leg (never done a long-haul flight before), and the heat and humidity when we get there - just now, I cannot imagine 30 degrees!   I hope I'll have everything I need for the trip, in time, and that my dad will be fine.    It's going to feel so odd being so far from home, hubby and daughter.  Any seasoned travellers got any helpful hints?   ???

Not me on afraid...only been as far as France  ;D.

Sounds like a wonderful trip full of adventures.

I hope you have a great time...lots if Sun screen, mozzy deterrent, and anti bacterial stuff.....and most of all enjoy.
Wish I could consider such a journey but sadly the furthest I will get is the Trossachs  ;D ;D

Like Honeyb says - Sun screen, mozzy deterrent, and anti bacterial stuff.

Also, stuff to;
- soothe sun burn
- calm stomach upsets
- anti histamines
- rehydration salts/ solutions
- plasters

The thing is not to worry, it's civilised there and you will be with friends.

If you get delayed on the way over, see if you can get a hotel room where you can relax and shower without
fretting about your bags. Airports often have transit type hotels. Take a watch or alarm clock so you know you will wake when needed.

Might be worth requesting a wheelchair for your dad - ok he may be able to walk but there can be an awfully long way to walk in some of these airports. Also, if anything goes wrong with flight timings  then the airlines do then help to get things sorted out.

The main thing is to enjoy it!

Remember to take lots to read.

In the Trossachs HB may need

Antihistamines
Bug repellant
Sun screen - maybe if she's lucky
Plasters - lots of walking there

Dulciana, I hear it is so beautiful over there. Well jealous!  Hope you & your dad have a brilliant time.
