Are you peri or meno? If peri you may be better on a sequi regime. If meno some people do have to use 200mg but you should have a scan to make sure nothing else is causing it such as fibroids.

Hello,

I've been on hrt for about a year.
Estradot or Evorel 100 + Estradot or Evorel 25 x 2 per week; Utrogestan 200 x 12 days per month. Testosterone blob per day.

I'm very confused: I am on the 10th day of utrogestan 200 x2 and feeling very bloated, swollen and sore breasts, tearful and exhausted and generally feel bad. From day 7 of the utrogestan regime I began to feel not so great and since then have felt steadily worse. Sleep has got worse and increase in urinating.

Is this a reaction to Utrogestan or too much Oestrogen?!

Sounds like utro to me. Only 2 more days of it now, if the ymptoms go soon you'll know. My fatigue lasts 2 days after utro ends.

Definitely utrogestan - as per sheila99. I get all of that and especially the increase in urinating - I have to get up in the night to pee but when on oestrogen alone I don't have to.

Thank you Sheila99 and Hurdity for your replies. :)  :)
Do you find your symptoms are manageable on Utrogestan? I have found increasingly the low mood and tearfulness is becoming difficult especially when trying to work.

Yes I've been using it for 11 years. My symptoms are not as bad - ie I don't feel tearful - more foggy headed, lethargic, sometimes migraine, breast issues etc but because I take it on a longer cycle I have to endure this less often.

Mine is noticeably better on cycles where my body doesn't contribute. On these cycles symptoms are not as intense and for a shorter period of times (I'm OK til day 8) . Also on a 6 week cycle so I can cope with this.

Hi all
I am hoping this is the right place to post this
I have been on Novofem sequential tablets for over 2 years but find I get quite depressed when the bleed is due, anxiety, some heavy bleeds etc and also gained over a stone in weight also very low libido
I had a review of HRT today and my GP suggested trying oestrogel 0.06% between 2-4 pumps a day and 100mg micronised progesterone (utrogestan) she said I can take the tablets continuously and if there is a lot of breakthrough bleeding then this will mean I am not ready to come off conti and it can be readjusted
I questioned this as am 51 and had regular periods when starting on HRT Jan 2019
Just wanted to ask for some advice about this on here
Also worried about weight gain, as I am already on HRT is it likely I will gain even more weight on the oestrogel?

Hi again
Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holidays 😊
Just wondered if anyone with any experience of a similar situation was able to answer my above post
I would really appreciate some advice or opinions
As it is the Oestrogel is out of stock so it may be back to the drawing board but really did want to ask on here about it

Hi there Starshell
My experience has been for migraines (I knew it wouldn't work and has nothing to do with my cycles but was desperate:
2 false starts on Oestrogel and Utrogestan  -  I realised that the gel was making me feel as though I 'd had too much coffee, then when I started the Utrogestan on day 15 I got the sore boobs.  My mood was horrendous so I stoppped.  I tried again about a month later as it was clear that my referral for CGRP injections (for migraines) was not gonna happen until i had tried everything including HRT.  the same thing happened so this time I was put on Evorel Sequi which was AMAZING.  It lifted my mood and helped enormously with pain from Inflammatory Arthritis (autoimmune) but did nothing for the migraines.
I have posted on here a few times for help with transiotioning back to the gel and I keep mistakenly sayng I'd been in the patches for about 10/11 months but I counted the empties and it's only 8 packets.
So, about 3 packets ago I noticed I was getting regular periods (never had that in my life) and the sore boobs thing and very low mood.  I thought the boobs would die down after period but they were almost unbearable all the time and I just felt like crap.  So I did the research, it's probably the Utrogestan causing the symptoms but this can be reduced by taking vaginally.
SO!  Since last week I am back on the Oestrogel and and will start the Utrogestan in a few days. HOWEVER - it is really obvious that it is the Oestrogel causing me to feel tired yet wired at the same time.  Others describe exactly the same thing.  this happened literally after the first pump.  I took another the following morning and I couldn't stand it.  So I skipped a day and for 2 days I have taken just half a pump at night.
My GP appointments are hit and miss and no one at the surgery really knows what they are talking about.  So a while a go I made an appointment with the hrt specialist at my local sexual health clinic but that's not until August 8th.  But I want to show that I have given it a go with the gel and tablets.
The infuriating thing is that along with the instant mood change and weird fatigue from the gel, I also get instant relief from a disease flare that I am having at the moment.
I had no peri symtpms to start with so maybe I am just getting too much with hrt, but the positives are very welcome.
I'm looking forward to my appointment so that I can come back on here and report back what the expert says.
good luck

Thanks for your replies Me and Dotty
It’s a minefield isn’t it!
I’m due to go on Holiday next month and my last pack of Novofem will run out in the middle of the holidays I may just stop my HRT altogether then and see how I get on, especially if I can’t get the Oestrogel by then. I think it might be better to stop when I am off work and hopefully relaxed, I have a stressful job so really don’t want to be messing about with my HRT and trying to  work at the same time
I hope you get on okay with the changes to your medication too 😊

Hi All well I got my prescription now 😊 I’m now on day three and have noticed I am sleeping loads better and feel calmer
I started at the end of my Novofem pack so expecting a bleed but nothing as yet, I normally feel anxious and wound up at this stage of my cycle but although can feel those feelings starting I am able to control them better and stay calm. I am not sure if this would work so quickly so maybe just mind over matter at the moment but up to now all is good!
