Yes it would have been rather humiliating! It's odd that the brandy doesn't affect you with period pain :-\ I am ok with wine but brandy or sherry always make me really dizzy-hope you have a good weekend too Bev-I have lost all hope of ever getting my act together-Love Magsxx

Hi Bev- and sorry to hear that you have a cold and sore throat-that's the last thing you need on top of everything else!  How have you been apart from that?  I have had a couple of better-ish days-but still nowhere near right- I have been up and dressed for most of today but came up to bed as I was quite tired-still felt anxious and low however- did manage to get a few things done though- mostly cleaning in the kitchen and a bit of tidying in the living room.   Yest I got up in the morning but didn't get dressed until teatime, and just had a little lie down on the bed in between times.  I still don't have much appetite and am having to make myself eat-are you still like that?    I have my CBT on wed this week as the therapist is booked up on Friday, so not as long to wait.  Hoping  that you feel better soon-Love Magsxx

Can u manage to eat little things mags, eg few slices of banana, bread sticks , tiny bit of soup, I know it's very hard when the anxiety is high. How about a milky weak coffee ?

Mags - I went on Everol Conti patches which got rid of the flushes but I still felt anxious, low mood and no appetite. I went back to the doctor and she put me on Citalopram, which made me feel sick for a few days (but I felt sick anyway). Within a week I started to feel better, very very slowly. The doctor said my appetite would start to come back first then I would start to feel better. That is exactly how it happened. I went from not wanting to get out of bed to going into a large town on the bus shopping.
Sweet things seemed to help me, wine gums, sugary pastilles, all the things I wouldn't normally eat.
You will get better so hold on in there.

Hi Mags sounds like things are improving for you.  My appetite has gone awol again but I do make myself eat as I am 9 stone & tall. I did get an improvement a few weeks ago & started a 4th meal a day but its gone again. I would force yourself as much as possible to eat its horrible though isn't it. Food should be something to enjoy. Its horrible feeling tired all the time too, I feel 150 today not 50. Keep up the good work I am so fed up of this now. The headaches, the aching all over, the being so tired but waking at 5 am.  Sometimes before bed I plan to get my act together & ignore it all but then the next day comes & it never happens.  Christmas is looming too all those tv adverts are making me mad :cuss: I am normally full of lists & plans by now. Sorry to moan. Got two naughties jumping all over me, just spent £40 on two lego advent calendars on line. I remember when we where happy with a picture of a turkey or a candle (no chocolate!) I am cancelling the order if they don't go to bed!!!! ;D xx

Thanks Littleminnie for your help- I too tried HRT which stopped the hot flushes but gave me continual anxiety and depression-it had always been on and off before that. Sounds as though the citalopram worked well for you-I have just started my third week on an increased dose of sertraline   which I think is causing the appetite loss.  Will try the sweets and see if they workx

Hi JJ-and thanks for that- to Bev, sorry you are feeling rough-it must be awful being  so tired.  Don't be too hard on yourself especially as you have a cold as well- I well remember the Christmas thing when my children were small-it was so hard to get them off to sleep- you moan as much as you like- don't worry - I can't even think about Christmas right now .  Are your headaches and tiredness due to you having the cold or is it hormonal?  Hoping you pick up soon and take care of yourself- Love magsxx

Mags, christmas shopping can be done on line, I did it all on line christmas before last as I couldn't face shops, I do a mixture of both now. Let's face it although Christmas Day is a nice thing, the run up is very stressful for us women as we organise everything!

I am a huge on line shopper but my recent purchases combined with meno have been hysterical. I wish I could send you a photo of two things I got for my daughters birthday they where so tiny & looked bigger on the pic. We laughed so much. School Christmas play costumes have to be in tomorrow, I normally make them. One has arrived one not  :(
