We want to visit Moreton Church and surrounding area. For 8 years I have holidayed without anxiety. As soon as I decide to take Mum with us, it starts. I can even feel the woozy head and light headedness starting - I know that I have medication if all else fails, must buy new R Remedy too. Perhaps she will say she can't go
......... that was the excuse previously, that she wouldn't leave her house. Have spent 4 hours on the net and have found 5 suitable self-catering properties .......... so that's a start

You're anxious because you don't want to let her down - it puts pressure on us when others are involved. I also find that as well as worrying that I might get ill with a bug when away, if there are others with me, I worry about them getting something too. Daft way to be!!

Taz that is quite a lot like myself. She's very manipulative too but I think whilst away, she would be different. Although we will get a lot of 'when Dad and I were here last' - like in Holkham Hall on Sunday it was "I've never been in this room before" : now the last time I was there with her was when I was 8
........... what exactly she wanted me to do about it .......... "calm; calm; calm;"

DH has told me to stop looking for accommodation in Dorset and I am writing to Mum today to tell her the idea is shelved for the time being.
It really isn't worth putting my health at risk again. I was doing SO well. <sigh>

Perhaps just arrange to take her for days out CLKD.
Your hubby is right there is no point in putting your health at risk. Your intentions were good and your heart in the right place.
Rest up and plan something for just you and hubby.

Thanks Honeybun. Have sent off a letter in the post this moment, explaining the difficulties I have had trying to find somewhere for 3! and also, info about 'wild flower mats' which we talked about at the weekend. Mum wants to have less work and thinks a wild flower area would be pretty ............. tummy still tight though

Seem to remember your mum hasn't been easy......
It would be so stressful going away together

I strip the beds, get the washing up to date even if I stay into the early hours
, do all the cleaning that can be 'put off until tomorrow' in a normal week
........... would hate anyone to come in to find I hadn't been tidy.
Hope Morrocco is warm and sunny

Mum seems to be understanding that we can't go away, she was quite sociable on the 'phone this morning and told me to get on with my retirement and to enjoy myself with DH
phew
I still feel slightly anxious though
