Also: the governments keep insisting on everything being electric ........... how will that work in the future? Many homes are without power and water, with modern properties being built with a back up heating system, i.e. a wood burner or open fire. Our heating system requires electricity to trigger the pump - we do have torches, I won't have candles around. The wood burner is handy so we could sleep downstairs under sleeping bags and blankets.
Time to get the emergency foil blankets to hand ? My sister has candles and lanterns around the cottage and an open fire to cook on, they are so used to power outages that everything is to hand. There cottage is over 200 years old with thick walls and quite settled in a dip on Anglesey. The bridges to/from the Island won't be easy to negotiate and 1 is likely 2 B closed for general maintenance for about 2 years. 7 Bridge is closed.
