Headache and sick feeling

Hi ladies,
Has anyone experienced this?  I'm wondering if it's from too much or too little  Estrogen?

Or maybe a virus.

I think we are inclined to blame everything on the menopause when sometimes it's not.

Hope you feel better really soon.

Have a look at your diet over-all?   Headaches can be caused by not drinking enough!

No, it's not my diet, or fluids. My diet is excellent and fluids haven't changed. I'm not a headachy person so I'm pretty sure it's the HRT. I've only been on it a week and only had one good day.  I've had a few headaches this week.  The sick feeling is the same as I got the first day.

Have a word with a Pharmacist next week for advice?  Is it bad enough to take pain relief which may ease the nausea?

Migraine maybe. Mine often make me nauseous.

Hi Katia - yes I've had it and was left wondering exactly the same thing. I'm pretty sure the headaches were related to fluctuating hormones as I've had them with other high symptoms and then again when I was low  ::)
The sicky feeling just seemed part of the headache.

If you've only just started HRT then it might take a couple of weeks to settle down - has it stopped any of your other symptoms?

It's really not easy balancing these hormones  :foryou:

Salad, no it hasn't, I have symptoms with the HRT.  I switched from Femodene pill and had no symptoms or side effects.  I looked at the list of side effects for the gel and I seem to have every one of them. I think you're right the headaches are causing the sickness. My whole weekend has been ruined.  I'm sure it's the HRT as I'm not prone to headaches and don't get migraines. Everything down below has dried up too. Yesterday I skipped the Utrogestan in case that was causing them, but I don't feel any better today.  I will phone the consultant tomorrow if I'm no better.  Or go back to Femodene. I only have two packs left and I'm not sure my GP will give me any more because of my age.

My guess would be that you are still low - it sounds like a good idea to speak to your Consultant. Hope you find something to help soon x

I started hrt on Friday and feel really awful today, woke up with headache and feeling nauseous, but the dizziness is the worst, could it be the hrt (estradot 50mg) or just a coincidence but I don't know how long I can take the dizziness, so hard to function

Yammy1, for me it was the utrogestan that made me dizzy.  I made the mistake the first day of taking it in the morning.  I've only been taking HRT a week, but it seems I need to take the utrogestan early, about 6 or 7pm.  I'm not yet sure if I'm right about that, or if it's conincidence, but when I've woke up feeling more normal I've taken it earlier.  I'm trying to be patient with it.

I took patch off and I'm going to see how I get on, estradot is obviously not the hrt for me, this is the third time I've tried it. Will take a break and visit doc in a couple of weeks and see if she can recommend a different type. Have had a bad reaction every time I tried it

Hello Yammy, I have the same dizzyness and nausea with Estradot patch when I change the dosage.  Thats why my doc started me on .25, the smaller dose.  When I try to increase, I have the exact same symptoms.  I find .50 is a lot to start with.  Maybe you could cut it in half and try it for a while?  For me, the symptoms you describe are from estradiol increase/rush.  Did you always started at .50?  My doc told me it was way to high when you are depleted.

Glad it's not just me, I will have a chat with doc next visit, but I'm going to stay off patch for a while and hopefully things will settle x

Have you thought about migraine?
Dont laugh never suffered from it in my life untill 18mnths ago.
M8nes ocular i get like a zig zag over my eye light flash last 10mins or so then it goes
I then start to feel sick and get a headache not the i am going to hit my head on a wall
Just a tension type headache. You dont have to get the zig zag thats ocular.
As was said we do tend to blame everything on meno
