I would never do cordless.  Mine is so strong that it could cut the inside of my cheek on high power.  I brush with an electric Braun brush and then use the water pik and I'm horrified at how much food comes out.  I eat blueberries and oats for breakfast and well it's disgusting how much remains after a good brushing.  Yuk TMI.

The waterpik looks interesting, anyone else used one?

I know how you feel Susan - I have always taken good care of them but they have weak enamel and there didn't used to be much you could do about that. My dentist has always said to my sons that it was because when I was growing up there was no fluoridisation (is that a word?) I have never had enough money to get implants but really hoped that by the time I was this age money worries would be behind us - ha - what a silly thought!

Himself has a tooth which needs extraction followed by the possibility of implant treatment.  At a time when he's put in for early retirement  ::)  ;) - we'll be in the surgery holding each other's hands at this rate  ;D

Got my appointment for apicoectomy, 1st June, i couldn't have wished for a better date, other that the fact that it is the day after my birthday, it's on a Wednesday so hopefully most swelling will be down for the next Tuesday,(my working day). It is local anesthetic, but will i be okay to go alone and drive home? No info came with appt? Eddie. x

Sometimes Taz it doesnt matter how good you take care of your teeth
I was fine till I had baby boy Id had 2 fillings in my life
Within 9 months of his birth I had 9 fillings with in 6 years of his birth id had 8 teeth out(all the filled ones and 1 more)
I brushed and still do brush 2 sometimes 3 a day I floss after and sometimes between meals
I use Sensodyne and have done for years now I use the new one Rapid
I had all my mercry filllings removed mind only had 3 and had amalgum then when I could afford it I had them replaced with porcelin
My dentist told me a few years ago about gum shrinkage when I had my titanium implant (never again)
The needle here in Ozz is the epidural or Block injection they put it at the back of your mouth by the end of lower jaw or top
Depends on upper or lower teeth being done now OK the needle is huge and it does OUCH but after 2 mins
Well lets just say they could do open surgery and youd not feel it I had my wisdom tooth taken out this way and it was bust in half
I had the root can done this way too I didnt feel anything as your awake they are more careful not to be rough so not much swelling
We as a family have Private Dental cos in Ozz theres abso NO national health dental service you pay or nothing not even for kids
So for all its pains and waits thank god for the Ntional Health sevice and I hope evryone with paining teeth and appts to come xxxx
