I think if you add some oestrogen, even just for a couple of days, it won’t stay in your system long so maybe just pop some on and see?

Thanks DM.

Yesterday was so bad, that yes, I've nothing to lose.

I'll start tiny dose E. If I flare even worse - I'll just quit all hormones.  :o

Thanks xx

Wow.

I took approx 1/8 of an oestrogel pump last night - so much bloating overnight. Calming now. But boy - I am sooo fatigued and knocked out.

I've checked back and I was totally out of it the first day on 12.5mcg combined patch a few months ago.

That's crazy.

I think I'll just stick to the 1 1/2 Cerazette just now. I feel so ill since upping it. So need to let that all calm. If it sends me too deep into supression - I'll just have to reduce again.

I dont think there are any answers for me. I'm just so incredibly sensitive.

DM - u were like this. Did u have awful mood swings too??? They've been horrific lately. Did it all calm post meno? Xx

Ok so this happened to me when I microdosed oestrogen earlier in the year. Such a strong response!

I went a bit mad last week and ordered the Cerazette. My curiosity got the better of me. I knew I couldn’t do a long term test until January (as too much on) but wanted to get an idea of immediate effect…

So I decided to take a Cerazette with 1 pump of Oestrogel. Was fine for the rest of the day, nothing obvious to report. The next morning I just took the Oestrogel alone with the plan to have the Cerazette before bed. A few hours into the morning I started feeling groggy and had a strong headache (I rarely get actual headaches).

I was about to throw the towel in, assuming was the E (knowing P alone is no good now for me) but thought I’d have another Cerazette to see what happened. An hour later I felt as if I’d been hit over the head with grogginess and fatigue! I then got the wobbly left leg which is a migraine sign for me.

I knew I couldn’t function for what I needed to do over the next few days so that was the end of my short test. Although it was more a curiosity test as had planned a longer one later.

I don’t know which hormone caused what but I did see a lot of reports online of Cerazette causing intense fatigue, with some saying they’d been on it 18 months and still felt exhausted. It is a strong one and think that’s why it can suppress. Saying that, the next day I felt considerably better (to the day before not before the test) when I would have only had the Oestrogel missing by comparison to the day before (as took the Cerazettes at the same time of day).

It’s put me off further testing. Out of all the oestrogens I’ve tested, Lenzetto spray didn’t make me as immediately ill, and someone here mentioned it was more stable, so that may still be an option for you. However, they all seem to change my personality in ways I didn’t like (more argumentative was the main one!) so I’m really not that bothered to have oestrogen. It just doesn’t seem to agree with me!

I only had mood swings when testing HRT and I never had PMT when younger. I did spend about 25 years on the combined pill though, until I couldn’t tolerate that either.

Post meno I am having a clear neural cycle (chat said it’s the brain behaving as if oestrogen is stimulating it which should calm down over next few years). The lows are more feeling tense and over stimulated, rather than moodiness.

Not sure any of this helps but just to update you.

That's interesting DM.

So Estrogen is basically never an option for you, but, correct me if I'm wrong - you don't suffer with many low E symptoms???

Well, I'm in hell. It's fully conclusive - I have some weird reaction to changes in hormone levels. It doesn't matter which hormone I put in/remove - it flares me.

But my own hormones, when on nothing, flare me.

This is my last chance. 1.5 cerazette. I'm on day 20 of the increased dose and the steroidy, poisony hell is absolutely brutal. But I've been through it so many times before.

I'm trying to just live through it. Well, I don't live, I endure and survive.

Hopefully it'll calm in the next 3 weeks. But I dont know if the supression will be enough, or too much. Basically I don't know what the end result will be.

If it fails. I'm just going to have to hobble along to menopause and hope to god things calm for me.

I'm not even sure a top hormone expert can help me - as this isn't to do with hormone levels.  :o

I really think that hormones are just so complex. I have had a tiny amount of O in my blood tests for last few years and have not any joint pain, dryness or insomnia. I still look quite young in my skin but that may be genetic. I did have liver growths in peri when my own O made me ridiculously ill and suspect HRT would be more of a risk for me for breast cancer as have dense breasts. I tend to grow things quite easily.

We are all so different and it’s not all as simple as O, P and T. It will be interesting what Nick Panay (or who else you see) suggests. Jan Toledano couldn’t really suggest anything for me, we did try all hormones and she felt I was more suited to P but even that makes me weird and shaky now.

My gut has also been messed up with the PPIs that I was forced, yes forced to take (hospital threatened to not let me be seen at A&E again if I stopped them), as they couldn’t believe hormone imbalance could make me that ill so was told it was an ulcer but could not scan for 6 months.

My older sister did try HRT (her main symptoms were flushes) but she got some weird facial acne that needed a special antibiotic so she gave up too. She suffered much less than me though, as did my Mum. Most of my friends who have tried it also gave up for one reason or another, I think you’re lucky if you tolerate it but I have decided to accept I can’t and just ride the cycle each month. Chat gave me a breakdown of when certain things will improve (like Aromatase - a big prob for some of us) and I’m actually looking forward to my 60s when I’ll be out the other side completely. Hopefully.

I’ll keep checking how you get on though and do let us know if something works. Even if it’s eye of newt. I’ll give everything a good go. Well, for at least 48 hours.

Thanks DM. I can't believe you tried again.  ;D

Well done for keep trying. But yes, I agree - it's not fir everyone.

I don't care one jot if I take HRT or not. I just want to feel better and get some quality of life - whatever guise that takes.

So, that's 3 full weeks on 1.5 cerazette. I'm astounded how much affect it us having on me, given I've been on cerazette since April.

So. What can I conclude so far - i.noeetty sure it's stabalising the horrendous mood swings. The constant crying, low and teary. Unreasonableness. Ok. So that was severe and leading to suicidal thoughts. And is clearly my body reacting to fluctuations.

However, I'm physically as ill as I get. So poisoned and ill. The chronic achy back has started (which started on double dose). I'm trying to push through - but I feel like I'm dying.

And what does this tell us??? That my physical hell is a reaction, rather than hormone levels themselves? Which I already know from chem meno.

But on nothing I'm constantly thrown into this 'reaction'.

And why do I get this reaction? What is it? Why can noone help???

Arghhhh it's hell.

Thank you for being there.  :P

Ah Crispy, I know, it’s so frustrating and debilitating.

Take care. xxx

Hi Crispy, et al.

I wish I had something practical to add to help you through this—sadly, I don’t. I just wanted to say I’m so sorry you’re feeling so awful. I was started on HRT a year ago and aside from hormonal migraines that were pretty debilitating (which I’m still getting anyway 🙄), I was pretty okay without HRT. I was okay in it until about September, when suddenly the bottom fell out. I still don’t know why. My GPs, including specialists, appear to be utterly useless. So I feel your despair. And I’m sorry. It sucks. I wish none of us were suffering.

I hope things improve for all of us. 💜
