Ovarian cyst and nausea
« on: November 24, 2025, 04:14:15 PM »

Hi there, just wondering if anyone can relate? I have a 5cm ovarian cyst, biopsy already done and it's clear.  I think the idea is to just check it regularly from now. But I get intermittent pain and horrible ongoing nausea which is making work really hard. Is nausea common with cysts?
Many thanks in advance!

Hi what R your periods up to?   How is your diet overall?

Certainly hormonal upheaval can make nausea awful, eating little and often might help?  As will foods with ginger in.  Dry biscuits too little and often.

Many thanks for responding! I had a two-month bleed which led to an ultrasound that found the cyst and a 7cm endometrial lining.
No bleeding now for 3 weeks after taking progesterone - could only manage two weeks of it as I'm intolerant and so BP went very high etc.
I feel I'm oestrogen dominant, that my hormones are just way out of balance and that I am just now at the height of the change to menopause, but was just wondering if nausea common with cysts, do you know?
Thank you for the advice re dealing with it, will definitely try this 🙏

It shouldn't be causing a mass effect as the female pelvis is designed to be able to accommodate a term pregnancy, however if it is hormonally active and secreting a supra-physiological amount of estrogen, this could certainly cause nausea.

I developed a hormonally active cyst on single dose desogestrel, and my estradiol levels were consistent with second trimester pregnancy.
