Thanks Northen Girl that’s much appreciated. I’ll take each day as it comes and get back to here! Not decided about the Mirena yet.

Had phone call this morning booked in for the 10th October for Hyteroscopy and biopsy. Burst into tears on phone as so worried about having a G.A. Asked secretary if I might have spinal block instead she said she’d get the gynaecologist to phone me tomorrow and we can chat about it all. I’m totally bricking it, I am so worried about it all. Feeling pants but glad it’s booked at the same time. Got to phone insurance people now too, and sort that out. Having lots of stomach pain recently but don’t know if it’s related to original pain area or not. It looks and feels like an eternity of diagnostic hell that seems to evade discovery.

It's good you don't have to go via the shambles of NHS and don't have to wait and that you might have options. I was referred for gastroscopy through the NHS and was contacted by a contracted out company who gave me an appointment at their offices with no sedation on offer. I turned it down and had to go back via GP to get a hospital appointment.  Worry and stress can cause pain. I have chest pain. Let's make a deal and both stop panicking.

Ooh that sounds like a very tempting deal! The nirvana of ‘no panic’ seems like an oasis of calm that keeps jumping further ahead of me as I stumble toward it like a menopausal hobo.🤪

I'm sure you'll be okay. I've not had GA for 54 years, I would also feel anxious but it's better than without. My hysteroscopy without pain relief was barbaric

Ooh shudder. I’ve seen both great and not so great accounts of it. Can’t say I enjoyed last weeks spur of the moment bench hop in my initial consultation, but I was gunning for that to be it. But not to be. Ah well, pre-op on Tuesday afternoon, I’ll be asking lots of questions.

News flash I’m finally home after procedure! My first ever G.A. And boy you were right CLKD it is a good sleep. I was extremely nervous nearly ran out of the hospital when the gynae lady told me the risks and possible complications etc. They kept me in after for a sandwich and tea and to make sure I was weeing ok. Got spare surgical stockings to wear for a while so can wash the other pair. All in all phew glad it’s over. She said it all looked good in there just got to wait for biopsy results obviously. Husband has now gone out for some chips!!!!!
