If you aren't meno it's very unlikely utro will stop you bleeding. Have you tried them vaginally? Some say it can be more effective this way as more gets to the uterus and it solves the swallowing problem.
Don't be put off having a mirena. It's like every other hrt, most are perfectly fine on it but a small number aren't. I had my first one this year aged 64 and it's been great. Also have a tilted uterus and extreme discomfort with smears. It hurt for a moment when it went through the cervix and I had a bit of cramping after but it's much, much better than a hysteroscopy. No bleeding now, no side effects and it's sorted for 4 years. If you're worried about it being taken out ask your surgery, we have a nurse who will do it within a day two.

Thought I would update and see if there is any further input.

Upped the Utrogestan to 2x tablets (200mg total) around end of April as per suggestion (by hospital) if still bleeding after Polyp removal and I still have bleeding, have tried going from 1 pump to 2 pumps of Oestrogel, still bleeding.  Keep thinking it has settled but then it returns!  TBH not sure that it has improved things at all.

I haven't tried taking the Utrogestan vaginally yet, this may be my next "experiment".  If I do am wondering whether to do this with 2x tablets or just one?

Spoke to someone via video at Peppy Health through service at health insurance company (think this is the only service they offer for menopause though).  She suggested Myrena Coil, Provara or Evorel Conti Patch as other things that I could ask the doctor to try.  I have been really trying to make the non-synthetic plrogesterone work for me but think I am fighting a losing battle.  I may just have to stop HRT full stop as I am at the end of my tether with it.  It just seems that whatever I try with Oestrogel /Utrogestan I cannot get them to balance.  I really do not want to have to go back and have all the investigations again and would prefer not to have to use synthetic progesterone.  I would be more likely to consider it if none-oral but don't want really want a Mirena as will find the insertion/removal tricky and if I react badly to it I will be stuck with it for a while.  I am running out of my 6 months time period as had Polyp procedure in February.

Can anyone offer any further advice or experience of having bleeding issues with HRT and how they have resolved them?  I see lots of posts on these forums of people who seem to also have bleeding issues with the Evorel Conti Patch.

Ebonybones have you managed to resolve your isssues or are you still in a similar situation?

I a on conti and have had light bleeding on and off, i had a hystoscope and was  told i  need more progstrone, gp said wait and see if it happens again, i have jsut called gp as i am bleeding again

Saw Gp last week.  Have now switched to Evorel Conti so we will see what happens, hopefully it will solve my bleeding issue but we will see!

Further update.  Spotting lightly again on the Evorel Conti but of course this may just be my body getting used to it as it has only been about a week and a half.

When I was at the doctors i asked her to do a blood test to check that I am absorbing both.  She said that she didnt think that she could test my progesterone levels but that she could the oestrogen.  I have just looked up the results of my Oestradiol test on NHS app and my level is <88 pmol/L.

Having googled it looks like this is a very low level possibly even around the level of a post menopausal woman on no HRT?  Levels of around 300 PMOL/L are needed just for bone protection etc.

I was taking 1x squirt of Oestrogel and 1 and then subsequently 2x Utrogestan (continuously) for a year with spotting/bleeding issues but never had my blood tested during this time.  I switched to 1x Evorel Conti patch (combined Oestrogen and Progestogen) 6 days before blood test in a bid to control the bleeding/spotting by trying synthetic progesterone.  No idea whether I havent been absorbing the gel for the last year or whether I am not absorbing Oestrogen from the patches or just havent given them long enough to work.

If the Oestrogen levels are that low could it in fact be that the progesterone is making me bleed because the lining is just too thin?

Any help appreciated.

She’s changing my progesterone from Utrogestan 100mg daily to Noristerone 5mg twice daily along with the Evorel 50mg patch

Also prescribed vaginal estergon cream

I’ll let you know if this change works

As I’ve been bleeding brown every 10 days now

So sorry to hear you are struggling too.

I am not too sure how long it takes for any changes made to take effect, I may just not be giving it long enough.  I was really hoping that there would be someone here who has had a similar issue but that had found a solution.

Because bleeding comes and goes a bit keep hoping that it has stopped only to find it starts again.  Will give it a little while longer and then try upping the Oestrogel and/or using the Vagifem to see if that settles things any.

Please let me know how you are getting on and if you find something that works for you.

To update.

Bleeding has stopped whilst using the Evorel Conti 50 patches BUT have had Oestrogen levels checked again, this time 3 weeks after using patches, first time just under a week after switching from Oestrogel/Utrogesten continous regime.

Both times results have come back as <88pmol/L (less than 88 pmol/L) so as I understand it what I potentially would be without any HRT.#

Is none absorption the only possible explination?

Can anyone suggest a better alternative?

Well I’ve been on the double norethisterone for just over a month now and haven’t bled for 31 days !!

But the norethisterone is making me sweat a lot in the day and when I wake in the morning my bed is soaked, my nipples are sore and I can’t sleep

I think I want the bleeding back 😂

The 5mg dose is s already far too much, you only actually need 1mg. When I was on them I halved them with GP agreement so had 2.5 mg.

I did read I only need 1mg but they only come in 5mg

Do you think I should just take 1 x 5mg instead of 2 as I can’t deal with this insomnia, sweating and headaches now

I only take 2 as the gynaecologist said to double up my Utrogestan as I was bleeding on it but my gp decided to change the prog type

Doubling the required dose of norethisterone is still on 2mg so personally I'd take half a tablet which is 2.5. The synthetic progestogens are stronger than utro anyway.

you can use 3 x noriday ( Norethisterone mini pill ) which gives you just over the 1mg needed.

I’m still drenching the bed every night on 2.5mg

Maybe I’ll cut in half again
