If you aren't meno it's very unlikely utro will stop you bleeding. Have you tried them vaginally? Some say it can be more effective this way as more gets to the uterus and it solves the swallowing problem.
Don't be put off having a mirena. It's like every other hrt, most are perfectly fine on it but a small number aren't. I had my first one this year aged 64 and it's been great. Also have a tilted uterus and extreme discomfort with smears. It hurt for a moment when it went through the cervix and I had a bit of cramping after but it's much, much better than a hysteroscopy. No bleeding now, no side effects and it's sorted for 4 years. If you're worried about it being taken out ask your surgery, we have a nurse who will do it within a day two.
