Everol conti
« on: April 20, 2025, 03:49:56 PM »

Hi all  :)
I have not posted on here for very long time, can’t seem to find my last post….
Just wondering if anyone can give some advice please, I have been on hrt ( all different types ) past 8 years , I can honestly say none has made me feel much better, I’m post menopause 9yrs 58 yrs old and currently back using Everol conti 50mg, I can’t go higher dose as it triggers my anxiety of, 50mg Everol conti is kind of keeping anxiety under control most of time yet it can rise for no reason at all, my main issue is when I change my patch 3-4 hours later my mood is so low which last up to 2 days , I’m feeling a little better but then patch change is due and it starts all over again. 😢
Idid speak with the lab technician in my GP surgery who told me not to cut my patch to reduce it as I desperately want if hrt and going to try herbal route ,can anyone relate to Everol conti making them feel so low in mood ,no motivation, inside feels just flat,I’ve lost interest in things I used to love to do, basically I feel I’m pulling myself through each day. As I said above I’ve been given the different mixes of hrt but none of them has made me feel anything close to how I was before post menopause
Thanks for reading my long post and hopefully someone can offer me some advice please

Many Thanks…. Kaz 🤍

The progestin in the combined patch, norethisterone, is known to not be the kindest regarding mood.

Also 50mcg of estradiol is unlikely to restore the level of health and quality of life you had premenopause as it is a very low dose, designed only to stop women complaining of hot flushes.

Testosterone is also worth considering and often forgotten.

Regardless of what you decide to do, you absolutely can cut both estradiol alone and combined patches down to customise your dose.

Decades ago, patches had a "reservoir" of the active drug, which was unsuitable to be cut, however the only patches available now are matrix type which can be cut without any problems.

Hi
Thanks for your reply. Yes it’s a low dose I’m taking as I’m trying to come if hrt, progesterone is what is causing the problem with with me. Testosterone has been refused by my GP and also hrt clinic, guess I’m just one of them people which hrt don’t agree with, after 8 years of trying all different types none has really made much difference.
I will cut my 50mg patch slowly and hopefully I can so with out many side effects

Many Thanks

You don't have to wean it down slowly if you don't want to, it isn't a narcotic, you can just quit immediately if it's making you miserable.

Hi
Last time I stopped Everol conti patches I was hit with withdrawals few days later, I’d to go back to using them again, I’d definitely not recommend just stopping any hrt suddenly
Might be ok if you are using them mild symptoms of menopause but for me I’ve been hit with every symptom of menopause

Many Thanks
Kaz 🙂

I came off Evorel conti as the norethisterone gave me really low mood and pms type symptoms with a feeling of apathy and despair. I swapped to FemSeven and all of those feelings disappeared.

Hi again Kaz. I've found your last post too if it helps you to re-read it https://www.menopausematters.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,67308.0.html#msg920044

Hi Taz
Thank you so much for, unfortunately I’m in northern Ireland and fem Seven isn’t available, they are the only patches I have not been given over the years.
I’m going to try herbal route again as it’s definitely the progesterone which isn’t agreeing with me.
So lovely to hear from you again
