Changing from estrodot advise please?!
« on: April 10, 2025, 11:51:09 AM »

So, I am going to have to change from  my beloved estrodot patches as there is a supply problem until probably July 2025 or later .   I have managed so far by phoning round everywhere and tracking some down , but even so I am using 2 x 25 patches to make up my 50 dose (with doctor's say so ofcourse)  Mind you, I have seen a recurrence of anxiety since doing this but that must be in my mind as I am still getting the 50 mg I need  :'(

So...I am facing the fact I only have 3 doses left so will need to try a different patch.  I tried Evorol once and didn't really seem to get on with it.  Any advice anyone? Do you have to get used to a different brand or are they similar? If so which one is most similar to Estrodot?!
Thank you!

They are all equivalent in terms of active ingredient, but people respond differently in terms of how well patches stick and whether the glue causes irritation.

The size of some patches can also be a problem - not that many women who've lived a bit have expanses of smooth flat hairless skin to choose from.

You won't know how you get on with a particular patch until you try it.

If adhesion is difficult I would recommend cleaning the skin with rubbing alcohol prior to applying, to strip the oil. This helps it stick better.

Also using heat to bond it to your skin eg hand warmer or hairdryer.

A layer of hypafix or tegaderm over the top can help keep it on even during a quick shower if it doesn't get too wet.
