Progesterone
«

So I recently increased my HRT from Evorel Sequi patches up to Evorel 75 and 200mg progesterone. The first part of my cycle I felt better so obviously higher oestrogen is doing its job but started on the progesterone yesterday which was day 15 to take for 12 days and OMG I feel drunk as a skunk. Is this normal? I’ve just taken the pills about an hour ago and I feel spaced out and really chilled. I can see why people say take before bedtime. Can I carry this on or is the dose too high? I don’t want to reduce my oestrogen as I’ve been feeling really good that side of things, I wasn’t sure if it just takes time for your body to adjust to the increase. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I had one episode like this when I took food about half an hour afterwards but if you google “progesterone feeling drunk menopause matters”, there are a few posts that come up that I couldn’t find via the search bar

Hi,
Yes that one time has been the only time it happened to me just before I posted here. I didn’t get it again after that but I had read that you can take it right before sleeping so you don’t feel those drunk affects so I started doing that and slept so much better. Apparently taking it with food increases the rate of absorption so you can feel worse.
