Polyp Removal
« on: March 05, 2025, 12:48:00 PM »

Has anyone had a uterine polyp removed under sedation or a local anaesthetic or is a general the only option? I know they remove colon polyps under conscious sedation so was wondering if the same can be done with uterine  :-\

Yes I had a small one removed from my cervix  during a hysteroscopy, under local anaesthetic .The procedure was simple and I had no pain, just a little bleeding afterwards.
I suppose anaesthesia will depend on the size of the polyps.
Good luck!

Yes, I've had 2 hysteroscopies to have polyps removed, with local anathestic.

It was painful on and off, but I got through it. Had mild contractions and pain like period pain straightaway after but this soon wore off. Then there's usually bleeding for about a week after.

There's been lots of discussions and threads on here, if you search you can read them all.

Some ladies are really lucky and have little to no pain, then there's ladies who cannot carry on with the procedure as it's too painful
