Yeah I did think of cutting the pills in half or something like that.

However, I went through a whole titration phase where I varied the dosages of oestrogel to Slynd, and taking a half a Slynd was part of that evaluation.

In the end it seemed like two pumps of oestrogen plus one whole Slynd was the right balance.

On the other hand... something may have changed since my startup experiments and yeah, if this continues I might try varying the dosages again.

Also... I was on Yasmin and similar for over three decades. Yasmin has 3mg of drospirenone. This is the first time in my life I've ever had any unscheduled bleeding. Not sure cutting the tablet into quarters would end well...  ???

The "guidelines" (this is hearsay, I haven't seen any guidelines) are to take the placebo pills instead of skipping them, so I will try that first before fiddling with dosages.

So a quick update:

I spent 24 days out of 33 actively bleeding, 6 days waiting to bleed, and - finally - 3 days of definitely not bleeding.

I planned to follow the advice, for premenopausal users, to take the placebos to "clear everything out" if bleeding lasts for more than three days.

However, by the time I got to the first placebo, I had finally had my first 24 hours of definitely not bleeding.

So I skipped the placebos as normal, and carried on into the next pack.

After 2 days I started bleeding again.

After the third day of bleeding I decided to cut the Slynd tablets into three-quarters.

That was 11 days ago and I have bled for every one of those 11 days.

At first I thought the volume of blood might be decreasing, but I was just getting my hopes up. The bleeding has not stopped.

-----

From what I've been able to turn up, the longest anyone has ever bled continuously on Slynd was 11 months. That person gave up.

The longest (that I've found, and I've looked some more since my last post) that anyone has ever bled continuously on Slynd *and* had the bleeding stop, bled for 9 months, and was very glad they hung in there.

Both of these people were premenopausal. All other discussions were from perimenopausal users. I've found one or two discussions from postmenopausal users, all of them on these forums, all inconclusive.

This kind of unscheduled bleeding seems to be a very common issue with Slynd.

So, maybe my bleeding will eventually stop if I wait it out, but maybe it won't.

Maybe cutting down to 3/4 of a tablet will help, but maybe it won't.

Almost every anecdotal account I read said the bleeding started in the first month. In my case, the bleeding started well into the fourth month.

So, maybe the bleeding is because I'm still getting used to the Slynd, but then again maybe it's because I *have* got used to the Slynd, and this is just the way it's going to be.

That means my choices may be to stop Slynd - and go back to living with the symptoms for the rest of my life - OR stay on Slynd and bleed every day for the rest of my life.

I would rather stay on Slynd and bleed every day for the rest of my life IF those are my two choices.

-----

When I get to the end of my current pack, I will take the placebos. I don't see why that would solve anything, but maybe it will.

After that, if the bleeding doesn't stop, I'll cut down to half a Slynd tablet per day and see if that helps.

After that, if the bleeding doesn't stop, I'm out of ideas.

An update, in case anyone's curious.

At the end of my last pack, I took the placebos.

At the start of my current pack, 11 days ago, I began taking half a Slynd, down from 3/4 during most of my previous pack.

Since my last post I bled every single day, until 4 days ago. I am now in my 4th day of definitely not bleeding - the longest since this breakthrough bleeding started.

Unfortunately, I'm also getting puffy again. Visibly so for the last 2 days.

I also feel a bit weak and lethargic. I have taken a few iron supplements in case it's blood loss, but I really don't think I was bleeding in enough quantity to make much difference. The thing about the Slynd is that it gave me my old energy back, and I don't remember feeling weak on 3/4 of a Slynd either. It's looking like a half Slynd isn't enough.

What I'm going to do is take half a Slynd tomorrow. If I'm still puffy tomorrow that'll be my third day of puffiness in a row. In that case, the day after tomorrow I will go up to 3/4 of a tablet again.

What I expect will happen is that the puffiness will go back down, but the bleeding might restart. What I hope will happen is that I'll have neither puffiness nor bleeding, but we'll see.

An update for the curious:

I am now on my 72nd day of definitely not bleeding.

I was a bit puffy on half a Slynd, so I upped it to 3/4.

After a while on 3/4 of a Slynd I was a little bit puffy, only a normal amount, but enough to make me try a whole tablet again.

Now I'm not puffy and I'm not bleeding, so, mission accomplished.

I don't know which, if any, of taking the placebos/lowering the Slynd dosage had any causal influence on stopping the bleeding. Maybe it would have stopped on its own. But it did stop, so I'm not looking that gift horse in the mouth.

One observation I have is that every time I adjusted the Slynd dosage it increased my appetite, a little or a lot.

I remember switching to the half-tablet was on Easter and I ate ALL my extremely large chocolate eggs in one day, plus all the other chocolate that was boxed with them. The next two days I banned all junk and ate only stuff with lots of fibre and nutrition, despite which I could not stop myself from eating two days' worth of food each time. After that I calmed down. As a result of this ravenous eating, I gained the exact amount of weight I'd expect, unlike when I first started Slynd.

I also had a definite increase in appetite when I changed to 3/4 of a tablet and again when I went back to a whole tablet, though it wasn't as dramatic, just a stronger than usual food drive. It's back to normal now.

Bleeding again  >:(

That makes: 142 days without bleeding, 64 days of bleeding (including pauses of 2, 1, 2, 2, and 1 day respectively when I was not bleeding), and then 100 days without bleeding.

Let's see how long the bleeding lasts this time.
