Womb lining on HRT in peri
«

Morning all.
I am 52 and I have been on HRT for 6 years. Currently evorel 50 and utrogestan. I take as much utrogestan as I can until I cant tolerate. Periods have been irregular forever ( range from 18 to 54 days).
GP wasn't happy with this (understandably) so sent me for scan. Result on cycle day 18 was 7-8mm. The radiographer said this was fine, but I'm looking for info and reassurance.
I have searched and can't find info on what lining should be for my age/hrt/ cycle day.
Any info gratefully received.
PS I will go on the mirena as I can't tolerate utrogestan.

This is completely normal for a menstruating woman mid-cycle.
However going forward I agree it is best to replace the progesterone with an alternative if not tolerated.

Thanks Bombshell.
I have read some posts where 5mm is a cut off, but think that is on Post meno. I have faffed around with utrogestan for 18 months and wish I had got a mirena sooner, but my brain fog and anxiety has really affected my ability to think through and problem solve.
Thanks again

4 mm is the official cut off in the UK for a postmenopausal uterus with no HRT, ie an estrogen starved, atrophic uterus.
There is NO agreed cut off for postmenopausal women taking hormone therapy.
Expert opinion ranges from about 8 to 11 mm, but as of now there is no concrete evidence or clinical consensus.
