Menswear is the way to go. Longer sleeves and body, and usually cheaper!!

so I got my items and thanks to whoever suggested the M and S thermal tops, they are soft and cosy, long enough in the arms and body too
Mountain Warehouse merino wool long sleeved top is also excellent .

Glad to hear you like them and a relief that they fit you!  Always a bit of a risk recommending something to someone you don't know... I will be getting some more and maybe try the leggings as well. My heated throw has just packed up, so needing a bit of extra warmth right now.

It's a plug-in blanket with internal wiring that heats up, small enough to be used to drape over you whilst sitting. Much cheaper than having the central heating on if you are just sitting or indeed lying on the sofa.

Like an electric blanket over the bed, is it the fuse that's blown?  R U able to contact the Manufacturer, some do a repair service.

Cashmere is really cosy ........ I paid a tenner in a charity shop for a cape which never works when worn over the shoulders, slips off!  So it's on the sofa for me to cuddle under when I need a sleep.

No, it's not the fuse, I suspect it's a break somewhere in the wiring. Doubt very much it could be fixed. I have complained though, as not long out of guarantee. It's still useable as a warm throw, as made of Sherpa fleece but hoping they will give me some money off a new one.

What is Sherpa fleece?  Sherpas are those men who lead others up Everest and hopefully back down  ::)

It's named after them. It's a 100% synthetic fabric that looks and feels rather like a sheeps fleece only softer and is warmer than regular fleece material. It is used for throws, linings of gloves, slippers etc.

Tnx.  we have found 'zero fit' base layers the warmest thus far.  And I found 3 pairs of warm slippers in the back of a cupboard yesterday, important to keep warm from the feet upwards.
