Hope this is ok to post, amongst other things I have chronic pain with the menopause. HRT helps a bit but the cold weather makes it worse.
I had worn Friendtex (Denmark) before but need some new things and I don’t have the energy to go through a franchisee.
Oh yes chronic fatigue too haha.
Would appreciate any pointers, I’m just looking for the basic tops etc

Depending on where you suffer pain mayB avoid anyting that needs to be pulled over the head/neck as 1 has to lift arms.

Layers.  Woollen where possible. 

R U able to work?  Do u exercise at all?  Which types of clothing, i.e. jumpers, cardies, socks, blouses ..........

Hi, no I don't work, I find that soft close fitting light clothing helps with the pain, I also am tall and have long arms. I'm looking for the basics, long sleeved tops and bottoms. I am spending my day in pyjamas as they are the softest.
Just realised this last week when I had to go out, the cold weather tipped the pain into an unbearable level. I need something to keep me warm. I don't really feel the cold (thanks meno lol)
I try and do some gentle yoga, due to other conditions I have Chronic Fatigue and can't really do much unfortunately

Be kind to yourself!   R U taking any pain relief, or using warm thingies that can be heated in the microwave or hot water bottles?  Gentle stretching exercises whilst sitting from toes upwards to keep circulation going.

In the past we have bought base layers from: outdoor walking/climbing/jogging shops ; Helle Henson; Peter Storm and more recently, 'Zero Fit' - made in Japan and sold on line from their Irish suppliers, delivery is quick and they are really really warm.  Socks, hats, gloves, base layers.  We walk when possible and DH goes fishing so needs lots of layers. 

Gilets [waistcoats] too.  Scarves.  Good slippers.  Tights though under jeans they make my legs itch 

One can also buy hand warmers: some are single use, others reheat in the microwave; we have plug in rechargeable ones.

I can't take pain meds as they exacerbate the migraines.

There is a recently approved drug for migraines.  Would rub on pain relief aggravate migraines?

Also: silk and bamboo layers are supposedly warm.  Don't know how they are with static though 

M&S do layers.  Have a lookC at various 'walking' shops to see which brands they sell.

Multiple layers are the best way. I have just bought some M & S Heatgen thermal vests. They are very soft and warm, with a brushed lining that is nice against the skin. They do different grades. I bought the medium thermal ones but I see they do a maximum one as well. They come in different styles, some with long sleeves. They do thermal leggings as well in the same brand.

Merino wool is what you need. It's the Scandinavian's secret for the cold weather.
Outdoor shops will sell tops and leggings. There are good quality, thicker ones but watch out for skinny less warm ones.
Merino wool is really warm, wicking and naturally anti-bacterial so doesn't pong.

Look on Amazon for goose down snow pants and camping slippers - padded bootees that you can wear with your normal slippers around the house.
Bung on a hat and you won't notice that you've forgotten to put the heating on.

They're not the cheapest of items but you won't regret buying them.

I’ll also check out M and S but I am tall and have long arms and find it hard to get tops that are long enough in the body and to go to my wrist

I love long armed clothing.  Would a small man's size be suitable?  What will happen if U need to return items  .

There are also arm covers [sorry can't think of the name  ] so mayB look at cycling shops too?  Pro cyclists wear them initially then peel them off as they warm up during races and hand them into the Team car.   I had a lookC at pro-cycling 'removal sleeves' - removal arm warmers.  They do leg warmers too ....... how pro cyclists can remove the arm ones whilst pedalling at 30 mph!

The M&S ones I bought are pretty long in the body - they cover my bum! I don't know about the sleeves though, as I went for a strappy one.

I often wonder how in the Victorian times women managed those long, heavy skirts in rain and snow  .  Although they would be made of natural wool etc., keeping the hems dry ..... and those boots !  And shawls ........
