Tibolone - Side Effects?
« on: October 19, 2024, 09:42:34 AM »

Hey ladies, I’ll try to keep this short.

I’m 33 and been in surgical menopause 2.5 years, tried every form of body identical HrT (all the patches gels and sprays) and none have agreed with me at all.

As a last resort I have been given Tibolone, I’m 2 weeks in, at first I felt a massive improvement in mood and energy, but now Im experiencing the return of vestibular migraines 😞

Has anyone who’s doing well on tibolone found they had a settling in period / experienced side affects before it all settled down and you felt good?

I know the guidance is give any change 3 months to settle before deciding to give up but I’m so sensitive to HRT it doesn’t seem likely things will improve after 3 months.

I'm so sorry, I can't help you with tibolone. Hopefully someone else can.

But I'm someone that's severely sensitive to hormones. Including my own. So I get it.

I assume you are suffering from low E symptoms after your surgery???

May I ask why you had the surgery?

I hope someone can help with your question xx

Thank you for responding.

I had the surgery because I had teratoma tumours that killed the ovaries so was all removed together.

Tbh I’ve been feeling absolutely fine on just one spray Lenzetto, no low E symptoms. But GP found out I had developed osteopenia so wanted me to try tibolone to better protect my bones long term.

Ah ok. And wow. You been through a lot.

I'm so sorry you're now in this position.  :(.

I've just started chemical menopause, which I'm finding brutal. No low E symptoms yet. I'm scared stiff of their arrival. But mostly scared stiff of trying to add back hrt. Because I am so sensitive to hormones.

What happened when you increased the lenzetto? X
