What time do you take your pumpkin oil capsules
« on: August 17, 2024, 12:31:55 PM »

Hi does anyone take pumpkin oil capsules to help with night time toilet visits. I have been checked and do not have VA. All I wondered is what time of day do others take theirs and does it help

Hi.  Who checked you and what R your symptoms 24/7?  How often do you get up to P ?  It varies for me, sometimes once, twice usually, rarely 3-4 times espeically when I can't sleep  ::)

VA can creep up.    Let us know how you get on, and why would pumpkins oil capsules help?  We roast pumpkins which I love  :-*. [well The Chef in. my Life ...... ]

Also do not restrict liquid intake because the kidneys will work harder = more night time toilet visits.

Interested! I’m similar. Doctor has just put me on medication. I’m yet to see any improvement.

I'd never heard of pumpkin oil capsules so had a quick Google. As pumpkin oil seems to take 3-6 months to have an effect on the bladder I'd have thought it wouldn't matter what time of day you take them, I'd do it at whatever time in your routine you're more likely to remember so that you take them regularly.

Good luck! Hope they work for you

Hi CLKD, I’ve been getting up more in the night weeing, and then being a great worrier(!) I can’t get back to sleep for ages. I’m also having to go more urgently in the day too. The doctor has put me on solifenacin to try. I haven’t seen any change from that but it’s early days. My VA is fine, she had a look and said everything healthy down there. I have something like Vagifem for that. I’ve never heard of pumpkin oil supplements.

How often are U using the 'vagifem'?   Despite what it 'looks like' repeated passing urine can be VA aggravation - hard to explain but when my symptoms niggle, I feel it below my belly button.  It's a warning that I need to up the VA treatment.

I would up the 'vagifem' initially rather than adding something else.

Sorry for delay replying, I have been taking the pumpkin seed oil capsules at 10.30am every morning. I take 1 1000mg capsule daily and it is really helping, I have gone from going to the toilet every hour during the night to only once or twice a night so finally getting some sleep.
My husband helped me out with researching natural help as I seem to have so many side effect problems. I had major problems with carpel tunnel syndrome and hardly have trouble with that thanks to a magnesium tablet in the morning and a quercetin and bromeline tablet at night. He started by having problems with his enlarged prostate medication mixing with his antidepressents causing amongst other things impotence so switched to africanum pygeum and it worked great for him, well still does. I know a lot of people don't believe or recomend herbal medicine etc but sometimes you have to go with what works for you. Thanks everyone

Sometimes herbals can cause more problems if used long term as they are unregistered and unregulated as well as being mixed with OTC and/or prescribed drug regimes.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is well known during pregnancy and heals after delivery.  So there is obviously a hormonal link to those symptoms.  Hanging the arms over the side of the bed is a common symptom to ease the pins and needles.

Let us know how you get on.  How often are U using the 'vagifem'.   No OTC preparations will replace the lost oestrogen, although 1 can buy 'gina' from Boots.  Questions will be asked about other meds etc as well as how old we might be  ::)
