Hello,
I wanted to give an update on my change of HRT.
Please take a look at my last post for the background but basically I have changed from 4/5 pumps of Oestrogel daily to a 100microgram patch changed every three days. I continued with the daily utrogestan and also added in Testogel (one sachet over 8 days).
Thanks to the advice of forum members, Joziel and Mary G thanks ☺️ I stopped trimming the patches as was instructed by the NHS meno clinic and have stayed with the full 100 micrograms.
I’m pleased to report that for the first time in four years I have no symptoms, even with 5 pumps of gel I was still getting low baseline hot flushes, leading to anxiety and fatigue, particularly at night as my sleep was disrupted.
Looking at my sleep analysis (I’ve worn my Apple Watch to bed for a week to compare with a week in January) the difference is startling and of course I can feel it in myself, less anxiety, I’m less stressed and generally feel more like myself than I have in years, well since all this peri stuff started!
For info I am 49 and started HRT for peri in 2020.
I was so nervous about changing to patches as the private clinic I initially went to (GP wouldn’t prescribe) told me gel was ‘the gold standard’ for HRT treatment…this left me hesitant to change. So silly!
Im hoping that this new regime gives me continued relief for a good amount of time. Thanks again for all the wonderful advice found here.
