Testosterone
« on: July 28, 2024, 10:04:33 PM »

Hi all.  I’ve had ongoing problems with taking various types HRT mainly with bleeding. I've stopped taking it. Too much hassle despite the amazing benefits of it.

However testosterone gel has also been really helpful for to me.

Can I continue to take a small dose of testosterone if I do not continue to take HRT

Hello Rufus657

A good question. Unfortunately I don't know the answer but hopefully someone will be along who can advise you.

I do know that GPs can arrange a blood test to measure testosterone and there is a range that is considered normal for women. I assume that if you don't exceed that level then all is well.

I also believe that in post meno our bodies can convert testosterone to oestrogen if needed.

I hope this helps and take care.
