After reading so much research on GSM (VA) the treatments are so low risk that you can be in charge of the condition yourself without outside intervention.
I feel if you give too much information to GP's and pharmacists they will tell you that you are overdosing as most will go by the official guidelines, and whilst we wait for those guidelines to be changed, rightly or wrongly we have to keep mum!

It can take months for the treatment to work and patience is needed but if after such time and one is still getting symptoms then that's the time to seek further help as it might mean something else going on.
Strictly my own view on this from my own experience and some health officials.

Thank you Ayesha. I have learnt to take advice from people, who are living with the same condition as myself. We are all different and not just a box to be ticked. As i have mentioned before, I have had kidney disease for 9 years. Believe me, some medical professionals are clueless. I was put on high doses of steroids. Never slept for 2 days. When I spoke to my consultant about it..he announced he had never heard of steroids causing insomnia???? Same with a BP medication I was on. I started getting bad joint pain. Told it was my age and not the medication. Googled it and found other people complaing about sudden joint pain on this pill. Changed pills and joint disappeared. Now I research and Google everything. We are always told at the hospital not to Google things. I Google EVERYTHING now. Thanks for your posts. They always contain excellent advice x

Which BP medication were you on?  Also which sites did U GOOGLE?  Don't believe all that you read .......... usually side effects from medications begin sooner rather than later.

I was on Propranolol for years B4 developing early morning headaches on 40mg so dropped to 20mg successfully for 3 years.  When we went into lockdown I stopped it on an 'in case it's Covid' basis, haven't required it since and don't know why I got headaches.   :-\ ::)

The vagina is very delicate ...... so treat her gently ;-)

Hi CLKD
It was Losartan that caused my joint issues. It was too much of a coincidence. Plus my joint pain went after a couple of days, when I stopped the Losartan. I am now on another BP pill and it's not causing any issues..touchwood! Oh believe me, I don't believe everything I read online. I like to do my research! Sometimes just reading about other people's experiences, points you in a direction, you haven't considered. I am a member of Healthunlocked, and its a great community regarding kidney issues.like this site, some of the members have such wonderful advice. Yes I will treat "her" gently 😁😁

Many years ago I was on 'healthUnlocked' until we changed computers  ::)

Let us know how you get on.  Interesting that Losartan caused joint issues, did U report on the yellow card system?  I tried to recently with an AD med but it was SO long winded.   ::)

I should have done CLKD However it was a really horrible time in my life. I was really struggling with work and dealing with my kidney issues. It took all my energy to function and look relatively human 🙈.....

relatively human - which happens in our house once I've got head under the covers ;-)

It wasn't the easiest route to try and report on the yellow card, I certainly wouln'dt bother in future.  If the GP surgery can't do it ........

how is the stinging this afternoon?

I realise I can manage if I take painkillers. From about 12-4pm  I'm aware of some discomfort but can function. It's usually in the morning and late evening I start getting real irritation. I always have the stinging, when I go to the toilet. I'm trying not to pop too many painkillers due to my kidneys. Thanks for ask8ng and I hope you are doing well x
