Thank you so much Jules! I’ll start that routine now too. I have the Yes moisturiser too. Gosh it has made me feel so sad 😞
Has it improved things for you?
Will you tell us what improvements it makes if any. I'd be interested to hear.

Thank you 🙏
I wish this was more common knowledge so we were warned. I’m hoping I can reverse things a little and get back to where I was. All I’ve learned is from online groups like this - thank goodness otherwise I’d be much worse off!

I feel the same. Really frustrated that I wasn't offered treatment that might have prevented the effects I've had. And that we're not even made aware it's a possibility  so that we can keep a check.

Try using ovestin externally. It's made a difference to me but I've used it every night and it's taken 6 months so far so you've to be patient but if you don't treat it, it will continue

Oh, thanks for the advice. I’ve been taking it internally but I didn’t notice much of a difference

@Sunny14 I’m so sorry for such a late reply here but I’ve not logged in for a long time.

Things have improved for me a little bit it has been very slow-going. On the advice from people here I started using Ovestin cream both internally and externally (internally every 3 days) and externally nightly. It took around 6-7 months for things to improve. They have in no way returned to how they were before but I can feel sensation now and my partner has managed to bring me to orgasm maybe like 3 times this year but usually now I let him finish first and then get myself off with a vibrator as we lie there afterwards. I’ve just sort of accepted that that’s the way it has to be a lot of the time. Otherwise I get too preoccupied with how long it’s taking me and then I’m too distracted mentally and can’t always get there.

I did a lot of research online and bought a clitoral suction stimulator which is called Nami by a company called Biird. It is AMAZING and I totally recommend it. Not cheap at around £100 but has been very worth it.

I also looked into the Intrarosa pessary (testosterone and oestrogen) but unfortunately it’s not available in my area - although it is with others so you may be lucky, it seems to be a bit of a postcode lottery with it. I think it’s available privately though xx

I was just about to suggest you try Intrarosa... because it can be converted to testosterone vaginally as well, which is often more helpful.

I wonder if you could try some privately to see if it works and then try to push for a referral to an NHS menopause clinic to get it on the NHS? Might be available through them, even if not through GP?

For anyone struggling to get hold of Intrarosa - I have managed to find it for sale on a website called:

www.the onlineclinic.co.uk

At £48 and I had to fill in an online questionnaire and answer some questions for approval. I was offered it in either a one or two month package, so I’m going to try it and liaise with my GP (who thankfully is great) to let her know I’m trying it 🙏🏻

There is also oral dhea for anyone who can't afford intrarosa or testosterone, or who finds these don't suit.

I take this and am very happy with it.

I take it for two reasons instead of testosterone 1) cost
2) I am on a combined birth control pill, and the use of dhea has been studied and found safe for CHC induced hypoandrogenism, whereas there's no safety data for using T if on the pill.

I think the thing with oral DHEA is our bodies still need to convert it to T and E and they lose the ability to do this as we get older. I can't remember the details. I think for some reason topical DHEA like Intrarosa can still be converted locally into T and E.

Where do you get it from though, it's prescription in the UK?

Intrarosa is prescription based on the NHS but for some ridiculous reason it’s only avail in certain areas. I goggled it last night and was over the moon to find it available online - tbh I’ll pay for it and try it for 6 months.

Benefits (as opposed to oral DHEA) is that it’s localised ro the area needed. I’m 49 and not producing much oestrogen or testosterone now hence taking HRT but I still need a bit of extra help so I’m really keen to try this

I get my dhea from iHerb.

Conversion will vary between individuals however it took my free testosterone (on the combined pill Zoely) from undetectable to the upper quartile for healthy premenopausal women.

Whilst I wasn't primarily taking it for libido, this also improved significantly.

When the time comes to move onto hormone therapy I might try testosterone but if the effects are similar or I can't afford T, I would be happy to stick with this for my androgens.

I use 25mg daily.

Mine are the life extension brand which are sublingual.

I put the tablet under my tongue and let it dissolve.

You could just swallow it but some of the potency would then be lost.

I started Intrarosa a week ago but have had to stop using it. On the second day I started a period which lasted three days with crippling cramps. I haven’t had a proper period other than light spotting for two years now.

I have also experienced very low mood, bouts of anger/rage for no reason, intrusive thoughts, bloating and constipation. I haven’t felt this rough since before I started taking HRT a couple of years ago. I have been reading further and there are mixed reviews - although it’s helpful for a lot of people, it’s not successful for everyone - and I think I am one of those people. I’d be interested to hear other people’s experiences of it.

Why is 'intrarosa' available in some areas and not others  :-\. We shouldn't be paying for what the NHS should supply  ???

Sorry that U had such a dreadful reaction.

Keep up with the 'ovestin' akazukinchan .......... it may take a few months for the vagina/vulva to plump up ;-)
