Menopause can be quite start stop.
I had 15 months period free before taking my first HRT aged 52, Evorel Conti, and it went badly, I hated it and stopped after 11 weeks but by then my periods had restarted. The doctor said that was due to the extra hormones being given, but they didn't stop straight away. I had periods for months afterwards and even the gynae at the menopause clinic told me she couldn't explain why I was bleeding heavily for exactly five days once a month, but it "wasn't periods" because I am definitely post meno as confirmed by a scan of my thin lining and non functioning ovaries.
Then I tried HRT again because the experts said that would help control the bleeding...no it didn't

my body laughed at their schedule and continued to bleed each month when it chose to, not when they said I would.
Better to expect the unexpected in menopause. I'm 54 and fed up with the lack of accuracy in anything I've been told about HRT and menopause by the doctors.
That's the way it will be until they stop pretending they know about this stuff and do some fricking research!
