You can carry on with local estrogens when swallowing the oral tablet, it's the pessary that you should not use any other products with according to the leaflet. However, people have said on other posts with thrush (and there's been an awful lot lately, including myself) that their doctor said to continue with the Vagifem etc the day after taking the pessary.
If you're sure the thrush has gone as that causes burning too, then I would double up with the local estrogen for a few days to give a boost as the thrush will have messed up your ph balance and left everything sore and inflamed, including your bladder. I took 2 vagifem a night and ovestin externally for a week. When you feel comfortable again then go back gradually to your usual regime. Try and build up your immune system again as this helps with keeping thrush at bay and avoid stress if possible as this will lower your immune system too.
I was back to square one with my VA after 3 months of recurring thrush and just getting back on track now. Thrush is very under estimated and can cause havoc.
Try ibuprofen as that will help with the inflamation and also is antimicrobial so can help prevent thrush. I was told to take with fluconazole as it helps kill the Candida cells and reduces the after effects when the candida dies off. Hope this helps.
