Patch not lasting 3/4 days
« on: May 01, 2023, 09:46:56 AM »

Does anyone else find that their patch does not last for 3/4 days?  I am on Estradot patches and find the maximum I get the right amount of oestrogen from them is 2  1/2 days sometimes nearer 2.  I've tried so many times to make it to at least 3 days but with no luck and I start to get hot sweats, huge anxiety, insomnia etc.  I did not absorb Oestrogel at all (blood level 53pmol) so clearly not a great absorber and my last blood test on the Estradot was 153 so at least some is now getting through.  Going any higher dosage wise sets of palpitations. xx

hi Pippa52

i know lots of women change their patches every 3 days.

i was wondering whether changing it regularly every 3 days and sticking with it for a few weeks just to see if that helps balance things out.

im glad your blood results are encouraging  shows you are going in the right directionxx

I don't know if this helps, but I have needed to increase  my estradot several times, and I do so quite slowly.

I needed to go to 100,but I knowwhen I do increase I get a bit jittery, and breathless. So rather that jump straight to the 100, for a few doses, I cut a tiny sliver off, so I kind of went from 75 to 85 approx, so as to give my body time to adjust to a newer higher dose.

Today I have gone for the whole 100,and fingers crossed after a couple of days my body will lose the jitters and accept the higher dose.

Maybe this would help you if you did need to up your own dose?

Wishing you well

I change every 3 days otherwise I wake in night with palpitations.

I’m on Evorel and have slowly upped my dose to 125 . This has stopped the hot flushes that were  starting again .
